Two day quickie trip

I am presenting at a scientific conference in Melbourne, Florida (1 hr from WDW) on Sept 4&5... and since I am SO close to the world, I have convinced a co-worker to go to the world with me for a sat/sun trip...

I think we will stay at AS with the Florida resident rate (49/night) for one night - probably AS Sports....

Here is the question - Sept 5 & 6 are Nights of Joy at MK... so we have discussed going to MGM and EPCOT on the night of the 6th and then going to MK on Sunday the 7th.

There is a 5k run/walk the night of the 6th that starts and finishes at MGM....we are both runners... so we are thinking of the race as the option - I need to find out what time MGM closes.. and look at if we want to go to Illuminations -- so I will be reviewing park hours, etc.

Eric has not been to WDW except EPCOT about 10 years ago -- so I know there are lots of things to watch him experience for the first time....

Has anyone been to WDW during nights of joy and gone to parks other than MK -- how were the crowds....

Thanks

Re: Two day quickie trip

Sounds like a nice weekend and if you both enjoy running, why not join in on the race if you can . I found you September's Parks Hours.

Quote:
Disney/MGM Studios
September 1-13 - 9am-8:30pm

Epcot - Future World
September 1-30 - 9am-6pm

Epcot - World Showcase
September 1-30 - 11am-9pm
<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Have never been to WDW in the early part of September & never Night of Joy. Have you thought about maybe doing Fantasmic at MGM? I am sure you both will have fun no matter what park you end up exploring
