VISA Debit Card - Can you use in WDW??? Hi - only 17 more days and my niece & I go for our magical gathering (love the new ads on TV). Question I need answering is she has a VISA debit card - can that be used in all the places in WDW where a normal VISA credit card can be used?? Her parents are thinking this might be a better money source for her to use than cash. Can anyone answer this?? Thanks in advance.

Re: VISA Debit Card - Can you use in WDW??? Hi Nancy, I don't know for sure how it works in Disney - but I can say this - I have a Visa Debit card, but it also works like a "credit" card for places that don't accept debit cards because it's a Visa. However, the money always is deducted from my checking account, no matter which way the merchant decides to use it. Hope this helps!

Re: VISA Debit Card - Can you use in WDW??? You can use a card with a VISA logo on it anywhere that accepts VISA but be careful - often there are limits on how much you can charge per day, regardless of how much money is in your checking account! Have her call her bank to get that information and also to notify them that she will be traveling. This will avoid any "fraud alerts" from appearing on her card. This is a good idea with any credit card company.

Re: VISA Debit Card - Can you use in WDW??? Hi, we just returned from two weeks at Disney. We stayed at Ft. Wilderness. I declined to have charging on my "room card" and used my debit card from my bank with the Visa logo on it. I never had any problems and used it MANY times during the day. When I got home and checked my checking account on line they were all there seperately. I had a running list of all I spent. But we had a really good time.

Re: VISA Debit Card - Can you use in WDW??? Visa Debit Cards are accepted at all places in Disney. The one thing you might want to keep in mind though is that some Debit cards have limits on their daily spending at the bank. So if she posts a large amount of charges on a Monday from the weekend and then also tries to use the charge on Monday to spend more then Saturday and Sunday all count on Mondays business and she might not be permitted to spend more than $300 for the whole weekend. This happened to us on our 2002 trip and we drove home and put all our gas on the debit card and then tried to buy groceries we were declined even though we had thousands in the account it was more than the $300 allowed for the daily amount. So have her check with the bank that provides the debit card on her daily allotment and if she plans on always spending less than that there is no problem. Enjoy!
