Italian charms at WDW?

I'm going to WDW next month and would like to find a WDW themed charm for my Italian charm bracelet. Does anyone know where they might sell them at WDW? Thanks!

Also, I'm new to these boards and not familiar with all the abbreviations. Is there a place to go to find a list of them?

Thanks!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

Hi & welcome to Passporter.. sit back & stay a while we're a happy bunch!
As for your questions.. I do believe that WDW has Italian Charms I think they are in the Emporium & I'm positive they can be found at World of disney at Downtown Disney..
As for the abbreviations.. look to the top of your screen & under "California" with the purple tab in red it says"shorthands", you'll find all the shorthand abbreviations you need..
Hope this helps & again, glad to have you here!
Oh.. almost forgot.. when are you going to Disney next month? I'll be down there from Oct 23 to the 28th!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

Yes they do there is a shop in MGM near Beauty and the Beast that has them and as Ann said at Downtown Disney at the World of Disney Store. There is quite a selection to choose from. I think any of the fine jewlery places have them.

I got mine at the Emporium and across the st. at the jewelry store on Main St. I hear they have even gotten more charms since I was there in August.

I'd like to first say "HI SeaKay!!!"

And, great question!! I've been eyeballing one of these bracelets - maybe I'll make that my souvenir!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

Thanks for the info! I'm glad to find out they do sell them since I've held off buying any Disney ones for myself until I could get them there.

I'll be there Oct. 9-19, though not at WDW the whole time. My DH is in the military, so we're taking advantage of his free admission and my discounts at WDW, SW, and USF.

Thanks for the tip on abbreviations!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

Yes they do have the charms at WDW. The price of the charms start at 27.00 and go up from there. (that is for the Collection ones, not the add-a-link)

We too are going down to Disney Oct 23-Nov1, but I have been buying the charms off of Ebay. WDW does not seem to carry as many of the different ones as what is available from other locations such as Disneyland. Hard to beleive!! I am an avid collector and when I find a different one I call WDW to see if they carry it and most times they don't. As well, most of the ones I have purchased are well below WDW prices. ($12-16.00)

But I am still waiting to get some to remember my trip by, so I will be looking forward to purchasing at WDW!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

The charms are also sold in the Italy pavilion at Epcot. Remember, if you are a Disney Club member, you can get 10% off at World of Disney, including the charms, which started at $25 (the real deal stainless ones) when I was there in August.

HOWEVER - there are no "WDW" specific charms, simply Disney charms. I was somewhat disappointed when I found this out, but that did NOT stop me from buying a bracelet as my WDW souvenir this trip!! These charms are also available at some malls, which is where my sister purchased hers - same prices, same choices, just not BOUGHT at WDW. If you find out differently, please let us know!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

They also have much less expensive charms at almost every gift shop around. I bought my bracelet and several charms at the BC gift shop and then bought more charms at several other shops. No they aren't "the real deal" but I've worn my bracelet everyday since the end of June and it's in perfect condition.

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

LOL, Tenya, I didn't mean to sound snobby about "real deal" charms....the CM at World of Disney assured me that the inexpensive charms would not hold up under every day use, so I am probably just a sucker!! I really do wish that there were WDW EXCLUSIVE charms, though, for a special vacation memory.

Marisa - these are the link bracelets, sometimes called Nomination bracelets, where the charms link into each other and there are plain links to fill in the rest of the band. If you buy a starter bracelet ($7-$8) at Disney, the back of those charms are engraved Disney. You can link in Disney charms or other charms that you can find at Hallmark stores and jewelry stores.

It's an ongoing process for me - I bought 4 charms at WDW and left the opportunity open to my family to purchase future charms for me!!

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

FYI,
There is a difference in the making of the charms that could show up after a while. The "high quality" charms are stainless steel, 18K gold, and enamel. The "inferior" charms and also stainless steel, but the enamel is just paint. It's not a true enamel. I have had my bracelet for about a year, wear it about once a week, and I have one "inferior" charm that has now lost all of the enamel paint color. But, that's not to say that all inexpensive ones are lesser quality. I've bought several inexpensive ones that are great.

I'm holding out hope that they'll have a WDW charm by the time I go in Oct. I know, wishful thinking.

Re: Italian charms at WDW?

I have a bracelet with some of the inexpensive Disney charms ($3.00 ones). My husband bought me the bracelet for Valentines Day and I wear it every day. I have had no problems with the charms holding up. Plan on getting more charms at WDW in December to finish filling the bracelet. Need 5 more charms.
