Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? We are hoping to plan a trip late October (Oct. 30- Nov. 6), so there are no codes/special promotions offered for those dates yet. Although we're thinking about CBR or POR, our hearts are not set on either... in fact, we'd even consider WL or AKL if the prices are good enough. I'm wondering if there is any compelling reason to reserve a room now, since the codes can only be used for a limited number of reservations and I'd be inclined to go with the discounted room anyway. If the moderates were all booked up for that package, is there any chance they would offer a deluxe at the same rate? To complicate matters further, I would definitely take advantage of the Fairytale package if it comes out for my trip dates. Is is hard to convert a room-only reservation to a package if that's the case? What to do?!

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? If you have a room only reservation, you can cancel up to 5 days before, I believe. I always book my room before and then if a code comes out, I call to try and have it applied to my room. If you have your heart staying at a particular resort, and are going to stay their code or no code, then I'd say book it now. I waited too long to book our room at the BC, and all the standard rooms are gone. We're now in a waterview room, but I would have preferred not to have spent the money for it. Hopefully some codes will come out to help soften the bill, but we plan on staying there code or no code, so we'll just have to pay more.

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? Hi, I would say book now, and then if codes come out, give a call and see what can be done. We are about to book at CBR for October also (3rd - 10th). Can't wait! ![]()

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? I definitly book rooms to hold them - codes can be applied if you have a reservation, but if there aren't any rooms available, then you're out of luck. There do seem to be more / bigger discounts available at the deluxe resorts, especially if you book the higher views when all the rooms at the moderates are booked. Even though you have to put one night's deposit down with each reservation, the deposit amounts get transfered over to the room you end up using so you're not losing any money. Happy planning!

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? Hi Mousestruck! Those are the same dates I plan on going next year (this year??)! I always book as soon as my dates are definate. I have been using "Magical Journeys" for my last few trips, and Karen has always been able to have the codes applied as soon as they've come out, to the ressies I already have. I have also been able to switch resorts if a really great code has come out for a resort that was previously beyond my means (like AKL - my favorite place!) Evie

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? Book 'em Danno! Always wanted to say that. I'd go ahead and book them, we did and then I called and had a discount applied for our night at AKL. That way you have confirmation and feel more secure! I like having my security blanket!

Re: Do you book your Disney hotel before discounts/codes come out, or wait? I love to plan but hate the code haggling. I also use Your Magical Journeys and LOVE my agent Jean. They worry about the room and codes and I plan everything else. I also agree with Marnie, if you have a place you want to stay regardless of codes and cost definetly book now. Then any savings you end up with would be a surprise.
