Re: Firework shows and little ones I haven't gone with any that little - but with my 5 year old. It depends on what time of year you are travelling. In the winter, the fireworks are often at 7 pm, and that was an easy one. During the summer, when the days are longer, fireworks are often not until 9 or 10 pm. We rented a stroller for our youngest - as we did other late night activities. She would often fall asleep in the stroller, allowing us to stay out later with the older girls. Of course, being a 3rd child, and being much younger than the other two - she is used to falling asleep in loud noisy situations (We have a running joke - she's fallen asleep at every band concert she's been too - and that's a lot!!) We just were sure to bring something soft and cushy for the bottom of the stroller. If you take a break in the afternoon, for rest and/or naps, your little ones may last longer at night.

Re: Firework shows and little ones My 3 year old was terrified of the fireworks last year at WDW. I think it was the LOUD bang noises the fireworks gave off more than anything. By the 4th of July (back home) he loved them.

Re: Firework shows and little ones I think it really depends on the child- my 5 year old had more stamina than my 9 year old in March and he loved the fireworks!

Re: Firework shows and little ones Personally, I have trouble staying at the park all day and then watching the fireworks in the evening. It could be because I'm old, however. I would see how the little guys do. It might be a good idea to take a break in the afternoon for a nap (I always need one then) before heading back to the parks for the evening.

Re: Firework shows and little ones My girl was 3 1/2 the first time we went. She stayed awake for the MK fireworks, but was out by the late-night illuminations at Epcot. She would usually keep going as long as we were in the parks, but was out by the time we got off the buses! Dad told me a story about me when I was three years old in disney the other day. It seems that I was wearing them out on my first day at the magic kingdom. But, they stayed because they wanted me to see the fireworks. They got a good spot - got me on dad's shoulders and then the fireworks started. Oh - yeah - and then they looked at me - I was out cold, drooped over my dad's head! hahahah! Some can stay up, some can't - some that poop one day, may not poop the next! The moral of the story - it will be really hard to tell if any child will be able to stay up long enough to see them, but it's worth a shot - at least that is what I think. I hope this helped! Have a great trip!

Re: Firework shows and little ones Dianna, we went with my 2 year old niece last year and she needed a nap every day. September is hot. I know I need some cool down time away from the parks each day. I would suggest getting there as early as you can each day. EMH mornings are a good choice. Then around 12 or so, head back to the AKL and use the pool for half an hour and then take a good nap. If the adults don't want to nap, you can always sit on your balcony and animal watch or read.Mel

Re: Firework shows and little ones We went last year with a 4YO and 15 month old, and just got back (they are now 5 and 2). Both kids love the fireworks, and usually have no problems staying up for them. That said, we do take an afternoon break (pool and nap) and most days, even the 5YO took a nap. Otherwise, she wouldn't make it to the fireworks.

Re: Firework shows and little ones When my youngest DD was 33 months old, she took a nap each day and had no problem with the fireworks. However, on our last trip - she had given up her nap and was exhausted by 8:00PM. The only firework show we saw was Wishes at the MK. (We went in November, and the fireworks were usually held at 7:00PM.) We saw it once from the Poly beach, once from a balcony at WL and once on Main Street in the MK. The loud noises never bothered my 2 DDs; however, some of my friends have little ones that are terrified of the noise and cry if they are in the parks during the fireworks. If you think your girls might be scared, try watching from one of the resorts.

Re: Firework shows and little ones My 3 year old DD has been to WDW twice and we will be going again in November (she'll be 4 by then). We've never had a problem with her enjoying the fireworks. She always says "Wow!" and comments on how pretty the colors are. The first year we took her, we stayed off-site and therefore it was kind of inconvenient to leave the parks for an afternoon nap. Usually when we saw her getting tired, we would push her in the stroller until she fell asleep and then once she was out we found a quiet place in the shade to sit down and take a break while she napped. The afternoon nap allowed her to stay awake for the evening parades and fireworks, but she was out as soon as we got to the car! ![]() Last year we stayed on-property and the afternoon naps were a great relief. This year we are staying on-site again and plan to take afternoon breaks. I think the afternoon naps really help give them a break from all the activity in the parks so if you go back in the evening they are refreshed and ready to go again. I'm sure your girls will have a great time!
