October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? Or not bother? I'm not familiar with Florida rainfall norms, but don't want to pre-purchase and pack raingear if it's not likely to be an issue. This is my first post here! I like what I've read so far. ![]() Thanks, Sharla

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? Absolutely! If you buy them at home before you leave it will be much cheaper then once you get to the park. We bring ponchos, umbrellas, extra shoes (once yours get wet yuck), and stroller covers. Have fun

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? Well hi & welcome to the boards!! ![]() October tends to be a bit drier though you can never predict when Mother Nature will decide to rain on your parade. The wonderful $0.99 camping ponchos from Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart or even a dollar store are a great investment. Small enough to throw in your bag & go. If you need them, great. Plus at the price, if they rip or tear (and they will tear rather easily) you can simply throw them away. Especially since you will NEVER be able to fold them that small EVER AGAIN!

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? Definitely. When we were there in Oct. 99 it rained (poured) everyday except the day we left. The following week our next door neighbors were there and they had sunshine. Take a hat with a brim, water proof it before hand or just get one that's already waterproofed. I saw only my feet on that first trip. I never looked up (at least higher than eye level) because the rain would pour into my poncho despite having the hood up. Be prepared and you will have a great time.

| Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? I was there mid Oct 2002 and it only rained 1 afternoon but I was glad I had gone to Walmart and purchased the $.87 ponchos out of the camping isle. They are very small and easy to pack and carry in a purse or even the back pocket of your jeans. They come in a little zip lock bag. If you use them and it stops raining ask a CM at a store for a bag to carry them if you think it might start up again. If it looks done just throw them out. | Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? We were there October 19 - 23, 2003, and did not need the ponchos for rain. However, we bought them for the Kali River Rapids inside AK, and paid $5 or more a piece for them. I should have listened and bought them at Target or Walmart for .99 each instead! |

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? I paid $5 a piece for mine also. But we keep them in our car. There have been days here when my umbrella was not enough. I like to think I looked cute in my yellow poncho with Mickey on the back. Best priced souvineer.

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? How's this one for poncho planning?? I took 2 Mickey ponchos and an umbrella for our trip last October... and one night left them in the room -- and of course it POURED!!!! I thought we'd have to build an ark. I had the digital camera from work and was worried about it getting wet - so I ended up buying a 3rd Mickey poncho -- the funny thing is - I am a "singleton" with enough Mickey ponchos for a family!!!

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? We will be there 10-5 for 7 days, and we are bringing some with us. We hope not to use them, but in our past 4 trips we had to them on every trip. It always rains in Florida, but usually not enough to spoil our trips.

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? You sound like my family between the three of us we must have a least 12 disney ponchos- we keep forgetting them back a our room and then it rains- so we end up buying more. Clio

Re: October Disneyworld trip-- should we have rain ponchos? My DH and I have been there in June and didn't even use them. This time if it rains we will probably get them if it rains because my 2 little cousins will be there with us so I'm sure they will want them. I'll buy mine before we leave now, definitely. Thanks for the heads up at Walmart and Target.
