Add More Days? ** Updated** Due to changes in flights, we will lose about a day and a half during our WDW trip. We are debating either going a couple of days early, or staying a couple of extra days. Pros - It's Disney- Nuff said Cons- Pulling kids out of school for 2 more days+, they are already missing 2 days. If we stay later, we pay peak rates more $$ Cost to change flights is $50 per person, 6 people Have to close shop for longer Kids will miss out on V. Day at school, or go to back to school 2 days after everyone else returns from their break I don't know how it would work with what we already have (we are on a package, and there is nothing comprable with the new set-up) Other things- It's WDW! Kids are in a school that isn't militant about attendance they are also taught in French most of the time, so any time they miss will be harder to catch up. They can catch up Any comments? ** We went ahead and booked 2 more days. now, we will be there from Mon the 14th (great V-day present to myself!) to Tues the 22nd!!! so cool!

Re: Add More Days? If you are on a package, are you also going to have to add in any change fees for that? Keep in mind that that is also a possibility. The one thing I'm confused about is why you will be paying peak rates? As long as you check in in value season, you will keep the value season rate the entire time you are there. It looks to me like there are a lot more cons than pros, but I'm also one of those people who manages to make trips longer than I originally planned, so knowing myself, I would probably end up staying there longer. Tough call though.

Re: Add More Days? About the paying peak. They change on the 17th to peak. So, if we added on, it is considered another reservation, and would be applied at peak rates. I just made the call to go earlier and come home on the same day.

Re: Add More Days? Glad you still get extra days Teresa!! I'm still confused about why you'd be paying peak rates because typically the day you check in, that is the rate you pay the entire time.

Re: Add More Days? Wendy, its 2 seperate ressies. We will check in on the 14th, and then out and back in on the 16th. I know it's weird, it's just the way WDW does things. It's almost as if we are resort hopping in the same resort.

Re: Add More Days? Is it b/c they already had your dates marked in their system? I understand the 2 ressies if that's the case. That sux that they'd make you pay peak rates b/c of that. But adding the days at the beginning works just as well Have fun!!

Re: Add More Days? ** Updated** Good for you, Teresa. I don't know how old your children are, but we always took our boys out of school up until this year. We brought them to Spring Training (Baseball in March) and we stayed at OKW using points and of course still found time to get to the parks every day. We always asked their teachers for homework they could do while gone so they didn't have so much to make up when we got back. We decided not to do that this year as Andrew started high school this year and he has all honors classes as well as 2 sophomore honors classes as a freshman. Matt also started junior high and he has real tough teachers. We plan on taking them out next year however, if all goes well this year. We are going in August though for 2 weeks as we usually do. Have a great time and I am so glad you decided to add on.

Re: Add More Days? ** Updated** As an FYI we are also going that week, checking in on 2/13 and out on 2/19. They had the special $55 rate for the 2/13 thru 2/16 and on 2/17 we pay a higher but still discounted rate, I believe it's $75 per night for the 2/17 and 2/18. Those days were not part of the special rate deal. I was excited that I was getting the discount because I originally made the reservation at $89.00 per night so it saved me money. Have a great time on your trip.
