Booking a stay that includes value & regular season rates?

Hi Gang,

We're planning this years trip for Sept.30 through Oct. 9, staying the first 3 nights at the Grand Floridian and then on Monday Oct.3rd switch to the Yatch club for a week. My concern is that value season ends on Oct.4. Does this mean that if our reservation starts on the 3rd, the whole stay is at value rates or does the rate go up from the 4th to the 9th? Thanks for any help you can give.

Kevin.

Re: Booking a stay that includes value & regular season rates?

I just went on WDW's reservation site and did a little math . . . I calculated the entire YC portion together and then separated it day by day. The entire portion averaged out to $327.82 per night, which was the rate per night (with tax) during value season. I could be wrong, but as far as it looks to me, since your vacation starts in value season and then goes into regular season, you will pay value season rates for the whole stay.

Hope I am right . . . and hope this helps!!!

The Value Season rate will continue thru your entire stay. You will not be charged the higher rate from the 4th to the 9th.

Happy Planning!

Does it work the same way if you're renting DVC points? I was thinking about renting DVC points for about the same time. The rental would start in value season, but finish up in regular season.

The value rate does stay the whole time. I just booked a trip for Dec. and am arriving two days before value ends and Holiday season picks up. I got the value rate for the entire trip and honestly I am saving quite a bit of money b/c of that.

This does not apply for DVC points, even if you rent them. DVC points vary per night depending upon what day of the week it is (Fri/Sat are more points than Sun-Thurs) and upon what season (the higher the season the more points). You will pay different point values for each night you're there.
