Airfare prices and gas prices...what\'s your opinion?

I'm debating if I should book my airfare for our Oct. trip ASAP. I just heard on the news today that the gas prices are supposed to skyrocket this week. I'm afraid it's going to make the airfare increase as well. The price for 3 of us to fly isn't too bad but I was hoping it would go down. What would you do?

I don't know whom to trust on all the airfare rumors, etc. HOWEVER
For a family of three I would certainly recommend flying to WDW from as far away as NJ.
Good luck!

I agree that I don't know who I could trust on airfare but I would say that you should go ahead and book now since you said it's not bad to fly the three of you. I would say that just to be safe and if you believe that they are going to increase, then you're safe. I would say that's your best bet. We are going in August and we just booked for two for August. I thought airfare was outrageous when we booked personally. I would go ahead and book now. That's my opinion on the situation. and take care!! Happy Planning!!

Re: Airfare prices and gas prices...what\'s your opinion?

Thanks for the advise. After listening to the evening news regarding the gas prices I went ahead and booked the airfare.

I can fly from either Newark, Atlantic City or Philly. I'm basially 45 minutes to 1-1/2 hours from the airport depending on which one. I checked all three airports and Spirit out of AC was definately the best right now. $220 per person. I don't think I'll do much better than that between now and Oct. I thought about waiting until Southwest or AirTran posted their fares for Oct. but even with their lower prices I still would have to drive to Philly (pain in the butt) and pay for parking. Between gas and parking I don't think I'd really save anything even if I chose a cheaper airline. AC has super cheap parking and they are the closest at 45 minutes from me. I think I'm just trying to assure myself I did the right thing!

Now that I've book my airfare it all seems real!!!

Re: Airfare prices and gas prices...what\'s your opinion?

I just booked ours yesterday cause our flights had already gone up $10 a ticket, and I figure it's only going to get worse. Gasoline is up to $2.09 around here and they say it's going to keep climbing through the summer. We're not going until late September.
