Update to free dining plan post below

I have heard that starting tomorrow, anyone can get the free dining plan. If you book a new stay from late August through early October, rack rate plus MYW tickets, you get a free dining plan.

If anyone finds out for sure, let us know!

If that is correct, that is a great deal! Wish I could go back, but school starts and DH would have a fit!

I saw it posted on mousesavers.com. It said to check back tomorrow. I hope that I can get it for our trip to the WL. That would save us so much $$$$.

I believe there is a 5 night minimum on the package to qualify for the free dining plan.

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

The dining plan is such a bargain anyway that everyone should get it. At $34.99/adult and $9.99/child we are practically giving food away. You get 1-counter service meal. 1- table service meal and 1- snack per day and it includes all taxes and grituities. compare the 34.99 per adult to 1900 park fare for an adult for dinner. it's 24.99+5.00 tip+3.00 tax. that totals 32.99. Now that doesn't include your counter service or your snack. I hope you all see what a bargain it is already. You should all get it.

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

I hope this is true. I have an email in to my travel agent to see if we can change the reservations we already have for Sept 16-23 at WL. If it's true than I have to call a quick meeting of our crew to see if we want to pocket the money or move to fancier digs!

That's great! I'm sure they are trying to attract people since that was the same time last year when all the hurricanes hit.... we had to cut our trip short by two days thanks to Frances.

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

My TA at AAA got the free dining added to our ressie and I'm in 7th heaven!!! If your booked with AAA, the code is YMO for your agent, otherwise it's YMP to get the free dining. We were able to extend our stay and tickets by 2 nights and still came out over $300 ahead! Hopefully, we'll be able to move our airline ressie and add a 10th night, too! What a great first trip this will be!!

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

This is a little confusing for me. We already had our trip planned for 9/5 - 9/12 with a good rate for a 1 bdr. at BCV. We were not getting the dining plan. Thought we'd just pay as we go with the meals (having breakfast in the room)

Now with this new deal, we could get the dining plan added for free, BUT, we would have to pay the rack rate for the room. It would add $500.

There are 4 of us me, DH, DS 13, and DD 7. I know it's probably still a good deal.
But, does everybody really eat that much? Also, I'm a little worried that they might change the restaurant list.

What would you do?

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

The meal plan for the 3 oldest in your family is$35 a day and $10 a day for your youngest,8 nights of the meal plan would cost $920.Even if you pay $ 500 more for your room you still come out ahead, you save $420,unless you were planning on paying only $500 on meals for your trip, which I think, for a family of 4 would be very difficult.
I really hope they have this deal in December for me
I would do it.
Also check out mousesavers for the details on this deal.
Good Luck!!!!

Re: Update to free dining plan post below

I just dropd my TA a note to see if this works for us but my gut says no. We have great AAA room only rates (15% off our AKL stay) and bought 10 tix in advance for use over the next couple of years. It does not seem Disney is doing room discounts for the general public much this year.

We are already doing the Fantasmic package so that takes out one nice meal and the sunrise and sunset safaris so 2 more meals gone that we have to pay for seperate so maybe dining plan would not have been a good idea anyway.

Dont mind me my cold drugs have me rambling on..
