Are we cutting it too close? We were planning to do the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour on the last morning of our trip... All info says that the tour runs from about 4-1/2 to 5 hours. It starts at either 8:30, 9:00 or 9:30am. Our flight leaves Orlando at 4:45, and we will be using ME to get there. From everything I've read, we will need to be on the shuttle about 2 hours, 45 minutes before our flight. So, do you think that booking the 8:30 tour (which should end at about 12:30-1:00, will be cutting it too close for catching the 2:00 shuttle to the airport? Remember, we will be using Disney transportation (no car), and will be staying at the beach club... Thanks for your input!

Re: Are we cutting it too close? I am stressing for you right now. I think you are cutting it a bit too close, espcially since you are using Disney transporation. It is reliable, but it you just miss a bus back to your resort, you may have to wait a bit for another bus. And, if the tour gets delayed for any reason, you may miss your "connections". I personally would not enjoy the tour knowing that I am pressed for time. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Re: Are we cutting it too close? I would have to say yes. Does the tour always end on time? What the transportation isn't running on time? When we stayed at WL in August, the CM's told us to be out front at 10:30am for our shuttle and they were actually looking for us at 10:00. Luckily we were just inside watching TV at the kids area. Can you schedule the tour for another day?

Re: Are we cutting it too close? if it helps any, i did the 9:30 and was done around 2:30 (just in time to say hi to mickey & minnie before they left for the parade) so 8:30 would be 1:30 (hopefully), i'd give yourself 45 minutes to get to the resort, so 2:15 or so. they do plan on you leaving with ME 3 hours before your flight, but they won't say no if you show up late (the buses still come on a semi-regular schedule). this is to make sure you have enough time to get to the airport (the bus may stop at other resorts) which is normally a half hour or so drive and have time to check in and get through security. so it's all in how comfortable you feel with the process. if you're using a participating airline, you'd presumably have checked in for your flight and checked your baggage before you went to MK so you'll have your boarding passes which will save you time when it comes to getting to your flight. worst case, you could always leave the tour early if you have to. you'll receive your pin at lunch, so as long as you're on stage at the time (be careful when it comes to when you go to the utilidors, we were there for over an hour), i'm sure you can leave if you need to.

Re: Are we cutting it too close? I think you're cutting it VERY close. The tour took all of the hours alotted, so at 8:30, plan on being done by 1, 1:30 the earliest. Then to get a bus back to BC which may make several stops (can't remember the order the bus stops are) and get your luggage from Bell Services, and then get on the bus to the airport...one missed or slow connection and you will not make it. The tour is great...can you do it another day?

Re: Are we cutting it too close? I've done the tour and used DME (not on the same day ) If I were worrying about catching a flight while I was on the tour it would ruin it for me. Since you are depending on Disney transportation all the way around the possibility of something going wrong is just too great. I love the tour, I love Disney transportaion, and I love DME. I just don't think I would want to mix the three on my last day before my flight home. But hey, that's just me.

Re: Are we cutting it too close? Denise, I think you'll be really glad you made that decision. This way, you'll be able to enjoy the Keys to the Kingdom tour to the fullest without having any worries about the possibility of some sort of foul-up regarding your return trip to the airport. Joy
