| Which would you choose? If you could do either, or both would you choose Hoop Dee Doo Review or Spirit of Aloha Luau? Or would you go to both? I was reading the thread about Hoop Dee Doo and am wondering if it's better than the Luau. TIA for your help! |

| Re: Which would you choose? I've actually already attended both. I've done Spirit of Aloha once and Hoop Dee Doo three times. That fact alone speaks volume. I absolutely adore Hoop Dee Doo! The food is good and the entertainment is fabulous. It's also the type of show that appeals to everyone from toddlers right on up to senior citizens. On the other hand, I was exceptionally disappointed with the Spirit of Aloha luau. I had expected the entertainment to be all of the traditional Polynesian music and dancing variety. Unfortunately this was not the case. The whole first half of the show centers around this really lame sub-plot and contains all modern singing and dancing. By the time they got around to the traditional stuff (which was good once they actually got to it), I was bored to tears. Another advantage Hoop has over the luau is that Hoop is held in an enclosed building which is either air-conditioned or heated, whatever the weather might dictate. The luau, on the other hand, is held outside. Even though the area is covered, it's still out in the open, so if the weather gets hot and steamy or turns nippy, dining conditions can be not so wonderful. As you can see, my choice would definitely be the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Joy |
