? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? Hey! From what I've been told in an earlier post, you can reserve rooms about 499 days in advance. My ? is...if you reserve that far in advance, do you get to keep your room at that year's rate, or do they tack on extra if the cost of the room has gone up since the date the ressies were made? Thanks! Ruth p.s.- Can you tell I'm dieing for my next WDW fix already?!!

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? You know -- this is a great question. I always thought that the rate you are charged is the rate on the day you check-in. Therefore, if the rates go up between your reservation and the actual day you arrive, you will pay the rate it is at arrival. Unless there is some benefit to getting a package now and pre-paying it before you leave.... anyone know that for sure? Eileen

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? I was under the impression that if you book in advance you will get whatever the rate for your check-in date is at that moment. So if you pay-in-full before the rates increase, I think you will be exempt from the increase. I could be wrong though.

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? I too was under the impression that you are guaranteed the rate you are given when you book. If any deals or rate codes come along before your trip you can even try and apply them. Might be best to work with a Travel Agent. That way they're looking out for your best interests.

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? Actually, rates are not necessarily guaranteed when you book that far in advance. If the rates for the new year have been announced, then they are guaranteed. However, there are times that they'll accept a reservation before the new year's rates have been announced. If that's the case, there's usually fine print that states that the rates are preliminary, and they reserve the right to change them once they've been officially announced. There are no discounts available when you book that far in advance, so as long as you're committed to continued bargain hunting as your vacation approaches, this issue may not hurt you. Keep your eyes open, and grab a discount if it comes your way.

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? Thanks everyone! Basicly, I was hoping. The advance booking would help with our budgeting for the trip, as we could have it paid for before trip time, so less money up front. I was just looking to see if there's any benefits that would come with being so organized, so on the ball, so eager!! Ah well, I do use Maureen from Grand Getaways, so she can help too. I'll let you guys know, but it'll be a while. That many days in advance falls about Sept. of this year! Ruth

Re: ? on reserving rooms in advance/ cost ? Like Dave said, I've also heard that when you book so far in advance they won't even give you a set rate. When the trip gets closer and room rates for that time period are released, then you can pay and have everything set.
