Cruise ship sinking.

On the news this morning about a cruise ship sinking in the Antarctic. 154 passengers were in lifeboats and rescue ships were in the area but delayed because of ice in the water. This was on CNN around 3:30 EST. No casualties reported.

Everyone safe and aboard rescue ship, I somehow think the captain of the ship's future is a tad bleak

I'm glad all got off and rescued safely. Just goes to show that the safety procedures now in effect do work. Maybe those who grouse at having to "endure" a lifeboat drill will think about this next time.

I'm not so sure about the captain's fate. It sounds like they hit a growler, which are invisible at night and barely visible during the day.

What bothers me right now is that a ship that was traveling in those waters (the Screaming Sixties don't get that name for no reason) only had life rafts, not life boats.
