Question What Makes a Disney Cruise Special?

I was reading a post the other day on this topic with some fantastic stories about those little things that make a DC so special. But now I can't find it despite searching through the forum. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just wanted to welcome you to the boards!

For me, what makes the Disney cruise special is the way that Disney will go the extra mile for its guests, in exactly the same way that they will at any of their theme parks.

I agree with the pp, DCL just makes the whole experience great. DCL makes both adults and kids feel like it's their vacation.

We love it because it makes our whole family happy, and that's not easy to do we have a 16yo, 13yo, and 1yo. We can have family time, time with just the baby, and adult time.

We love it because there is so much to do for every age group, and even for those who aren't huge Disney fans. Granted we've never cruised anyone else but Disney, but after reading the various boards, Disney's service seems to be by far above and beyond everyone elses.

Even as a couple with grown children, we don't feel out of place on a Disney cruise. People I work with find it incredibly strange that we cruise with Disney rather than with the more "adult" cruise lines. We love Disney, we love the way Disney makes us feel valued and that is hard to find in other places. So why not? Welcome to the boards! We are glad you are here!

My DH and I cruised on the Magic last November and loved every minute. The food was excellent and shows were incredible. But it was the Disney Crew that made us feel special and pampered. They were always going that extra mile to make people have the best experience possible.

All the ways they incorporate that extra bit of magic into everything on the ships from the musical horn, to the special fireworks, the quality of the entertainment, the cleanliness, Castaway Cay and on and on. While other cruise lines are offering more for families to try to lure them to their lines, what sticks out to me that says family cruising is no casinos on board. We've haven't cruised with any other line (probably won't either) so maybe they do this too but announcing your family as you board was pretty neat too. we just loved it and are looking forward to our next cruise in '09.
