On Board Hairdryers

OK, this is the dumbest question, but I was wondering how good the hair dryers are? My mom and I are picky chickies with a lot of hair, and we want to bring our own if the onboard variety doesn't have enough ooomph.

What do you think?

We didn't use it, but I understand the air blowing part of the hair dryer is not very powerful.

The ones onboard are very powerful, like a normal hairdryer at home, however I also use a defuser attachment so always take mine with me, but plugged in on the fastest setting it is slower and cooler then if I was at home, but as I have very curly hair it always drys it perfectly and the stateroom ones make my hair very frizzy, I never go on holiday without my own hairdryer.

It worked good enough for me. I have thick hair, but it's short!

I'd say it's about the same as the wall-attachment ones you find in most hotels nowadays. If you are bringing your own, keep in mind you will need to do your hair in front of the desk mirror, since you can't plug anything in the bathroom.

I didn't like the one on board at all. It hardly even moved my hair and took almost as long to dry with the drier than if I just let it air dry. I'll be bringing my own with me next time.

It was not powerful at all. My hair is on the fine side but long. I would ususlly end up just drying my bangs and then pulling the rest back with a clip and airdrying it.

I have never been impressed with hair dryers on cruise ships or hotels. And that includes lines like Celebrity and hotels like The W. Remember the paper towel commercial? "Wimp wimpy wimpy".

Brought my own. Didn't like the one in the bathroom. And actually preferred drying my hair in "the desk area" - it was larger and easier to move around in. I start drying "upside down," and bending over and back up in the bathroom could have been dangerous!
