| Questions about beds in staterooms? We have a category 5 stateroom, and I was wondering if that "sofa" bed was a pull out twin/full bed that can fit 2 young kids or is it only big enough to hold one child? I know there is no way one of my kids will be brave enough to sleep in that pull down ceiling bed (scary, isn't it |

| It's a twin. Is one of your kids young enough to sleep in a Pack 'n' Play? You can request one of those.

| Thank you Dave! I have an 8 and 4 y.o, do you think 2 fit on the sofa bed? does it fold out or stay as is? Do most people with 4 use that wall bed? Thanks so much! I'm honored you answer our questions!! |

| I don't think it would sleep 2. The back of the slfa folds down on top of the seat to make a twin bed. I haven't been in a room with the pull down bunk, but I think you can get a rail for it (or maybe it even has one?) so it's pretty safe.

| I would hope you could get an 8 year-old into that upper berth - if not right away, perhaps after one night of sharing on that twin bed. I don't think the twin bunks are wide enough to share, but it would still depend on the children. A railing is available, and it does look very cool when all set up, with a nice, sturdy ladder. The beds are setup while you're at dinner, so just the magic of coming back to the room and seeing it transformed might spark the sense of adventure in one or both of them. The stateroom host/hostess will automatically set up the upper berth. Let him/her do it - that way, the bunk will always be available if someone has a change of heart (you can't fold it down yourself). If you have troubles that first night, another alternative (as much as I hate to suggest it), is to give the kids the queen bed while Mom and Dad take the bunks.

| ![]() This is a photo of our Cat. 4 stateroom with the furnishings in 'bedtime' mode. In this case, the murphy-style bed is by the door to the veranda and the sofa is below the 'pull-down' bunk bed. The upper has a weight limit of 220 lbs. (100 kg). My BIL was on the sofa, our DS (8) in the upper and DS(15) in the murphy... They all liked the bed they were in.

| Have you seen pics of the pull-down bed? My DD (9yo) saw it and even though our room will have the couch bed too, she's sold on the pull-down! go to CASTAWAYCLUB.COM and click on "staterooms". Then choose "mystery of the ceiling bed revealed". This will show you how it comes down, and what it looks like all set up. If you get the DCL dvd it also has a pic in the stateroom section. good luck!!

| I would think you could get 2 kids to share the twin I know I laid down with DS on our trip, and we fit (I'm small - 5 feet). I also slept up in the pull down one night

| We are taking my 11 yr old niece on a cruise next year and she is very excited about the bunk. Here is the short video we took of our cabin steward demonstrating how the bed unfolds. YouTube - Folding bunk on Disney Magic

| On our first Disney cruise, my DS was 7. He loved the pull down bed. I was a little nervous the first night though. We hung a glow necklace on the rung of the ladder in case he needed to get down and go to the bathroom during the night. (You don't need to do that, but made both DS and me feel better.

| Great video Earkid! Thanks for posting. You can find such helpful things on YouTube these days, it seems. Someone's video of a particular excursion actually helped me to decide NOT to book it, so I think YouTube is super helpful.
