| Best DCL 7 day cruise??? Hey All, We are going on a 3day cuise this Oct to get out "feet wet" on cruising but while on board, (assuming we love it), I'd like to book a 7 day. Hoping to hear which 7 day people like most and the time of year. Also I know you can transfer the reservation to another travel agent, are there any out there with the best offers/on board credits?? Thanks! |

| "The best DCL 7 day cruise"? The one I'm on, of course!!!!!! Yes, you can transfer. IIRC, if you booked through an agent, when you make the onboard reservation, she/he gets the credit automatically, but you can ask. Transferring is easy enough to do. Rather than look for deals, look for service. You can get "great deals" from Orbitz (until you get to the bottom line), but service?

| We've loved all our cruises, but really liked the second stop at Castway Cay! We'd really like a cruise that spent days at sea and Castaway Cay and no where else.

Regarding which 7-day, here's my opinion. I went on my third 3-night cruise when we sailed on the Wonder in Dec (previously Carnival and Royal Caribbean). Thinking that another cruise anytime soon was not going to happen, we did not book it on board. So, our itinerary was determined not by what we preferred, but by the date of his conference and we are doing Western. I am excited about Key West and, well, just a long cruise in general. Had I a choice, my preferences were steering me toward the Eastern when we were looking initially at the itineraries. Mainly, as Dave and many others say, Eastern offers one more day at sea (one less port, obviously, but I was OK with that). Unfortunately, I can't give my opinion regarding which Eastern - perhaps some trip reports would give you an idea or take a special look at excursions, etc.

| We have only done the Eastern itinerary. We chose it because I really wasnt ed to enjoy the extra time on the ship and it had 1 more sea day. Next time we will do the Western because I really want to visit the ports for that cruise. It all depends on what you want to do. Visit ports or be on the ship for more sea days. Also I had never been to any of the ports before so that was not an influence for me. I want to visit them all!

| We did the western and loved it. There is so much to do and the ports are fun. We will do the eastern next time around .

| We did the Eastern in 2006 and we loved the extra Day at Sea and we were going to do the Western in 2008 but we changed our booking to the WB Repositioning cruise. Well plans changed again and we changed to the Eastern again... but we are going to Tortola instead of St. Maarten/St. Martin. Why not go back to a western? Well we will do the western someday but we didn't know when we might get a chance to go to Tortola again with Disney so we booked the Tortola Stop. The extra cruise day with one less stop works great for us as we love the ship. We are hoping that either 2009 or 2010 we will be back on Disney's ship going to the WC. But for now May 09 we will be cruising the Eastern again.

| We did the Eastern in April, but the kids' spring break determined the date, thus the itinerary. It was nice having an extra day at sea. Next time I'd like to try the Western. Or even better, a "double dip". They should make an itinerary just to CC!

| I loved our time on CC so I recommend the double dip with the two days at Castway Cay and two days at sea. I prefer the relaxing time at sea over spending time at port. Last edited by colleymouse; 08-21-2008 at 09:56 PM. |

| We did the Western Caribbean and loved it!!! Of course, I don't think there's any such thing as a bad cruise!
