I saw somewhere on here that the $15 per person you pay at palo is for the wait staff, but then I saw someone saw you pay the fee plus tip. What does everyone here do? If you tip how much? This is my first cruise and I have no idea about anything other than what I read.
What we've found out (and I don't know if it was always that way) is that the $15 does not go to the waitstaff (or not much, anyway). Most said they'd tip extra anyway, but now we know they aren't getting much.
Consider what your meal is "worth" when tipping, not what you are paying. Palo is considered comparable to some high end restaurants, so $30-50/head would not be unthinkable. Tip based on that amount.
We tipped extra as well - just because we felt the service was well worth it. It really is the best service we've ever received, perhaps with the exception of Victoria and Albert's.
