I read in the Passporter Guide to the Disney Cruise Line that if you didn't want to use a credit card imprint for your Key to the World card you could put $500 in traveller's checks on the Key to the World card instead. This way all your charges come out of that instead of being charged to a credit card and that the purser's office would call you when you need to add more funds. This is something my mother and I would be interested in doing when we cruise for the first time next year. Our question though is what happens if you don't use up all of the $500 you put on your Key to the World Card? Do you lose that money or does Disney reimburse it to you at the end of the cruise?

They will return any money you don't use

I don't remember the specifics, but I think they either give you a check when you settle up or they mail one the next business day. It varies from line to line and even, it seems, from ship to ship.
