| OMG, Sue!! I have GOT to know how you did those Captain Mickey ears! I absolutely LOVE them and would really like to have some just like them for our next cruise. Any way you could make some for me? |

| I just printed the hats and the and the ears from an internet site. They were already the right size. Here is a link. I'm not sure if it's the same one I used, but the stuff looks the same. Have a nice trip!

The bag you see on the left, attached to the fish extender, was used to recieve gifts. I was in a fish extender swap. Some of us going at the same time swapped little goodies with each other, 5 out of the 7 days of the cruise. I made extra door magnets and gave them as my swap gifts. ![]()

| So. A fish extender. You use that in case the fish you caught is a little too small? Kind of like a bacon stretcher? Ex-Tenderfoots out there, did you ever find that left-handed one? ![]()

| I love doing door magnets, so don't get me wrong here. However, after our last cruise, I was disheartened that other passengers would steal or ruin the items on our door. I made lots of magnets for our door on our Mexican Riviera cruise. I was so excited to see all my creations proudly displayed. I made Mickey shaped magnets with our names, magnets of our favorite characters and a great photo magnet of my kids infront of the Wonder on Castaway Cay. I had even bought some character magnets at Disneyland to put up as well. IMO, it looked great and was so fun to come back to every day. It was disappointing to see, however, that on every day of the cruise magnets went missing. Sometimes we found them on other doors, sometimes not. And then someone actually came along with a black pen and drew mustaches on my kids. They were heartbroken. I will continue to decorate our door on future cruises and hope that it doesn't happen again. I definitely will only use homemade magnets from now on (the Disneyland magnets were all stolen on the last morning). It's a sad reminder that even on the Disney Cruise (my happiest place on earth!), things like this still can happen.

We didn't have any trouble with our magnets, however. I made them all at home because I had read in several places of the "good" magnets being stolen.

| I had read this may happen and also about a hint. Write your room number on the front of each magnet. I did that and didn't have a single one taken. I didn't use one of the pocket organizers for getting gifts. I couldn't justify the cost for a one time thing. I had a gift bag that was red and white polka dot (reminded me of disney), kind of made out of plastic, vs. paper. I decorated it with disney mickey gloves I had from scrapbooking and put our door number in black letters on it (you can see it to the right in the pic I posted). I attached it to the fish extender with one of the those plastic tie things that you cinch. That was another good hint I got and thought I'd pass on. It was fun to do the gift swap. Even my teen boys (who laughed at me the whole time I was preparing for this), would excitedly check the bag each time they returned to the room!

| Door Magnets: We haven't had any problems with door magnets on any cruises. I don't know if it's the location of our cabin (right outside the elevators), but, so far no problems. Now I'm a little concerned. As far as what we decorate the door with, we put up our Castaway Club magnets with past cruises, some pictures of Mickey and Friends. Hope this doesn't continue. |

| Okay...so now I'm really interested in doing these magnets, but I'm a little unsure of how to go about doing them. What software do you use and where does everyone get the really cool backdrop prints so that they can paste the characters onto them?
