| Since we most likely will not be able to get into Palo, we would like to try to order the souffle in the main dining room (who am I kidding, we'd want it as often as we could get it regardless!!). I know others have been able to do so, but I'm wondering how to go about asking for it, especially considering it takes 20 minutes to bake and we aren't good "waiters". We eat in about 10 minutes at home! Any tips on this issue? |

| ![]() ![]() ![]() HaHa. Been there done that. We stayed concierge and were told that we could have ANYTHING from ANY restuarant in room service. Well, we asked for the souffle when we were in Tritans. The freaked!!!! Well then we said fine take it to our room, that was like asking to move the moon. Something about the souffle falling during transporting it. Sorry, but that was the only thing that was a disappointment for us on the ship. They thought we were crazy for asking. |

| Souffles are horribly difficult creatures. Since I only have to move mine a few feet, I really don't worry too much. But too much of a temperature change, a little too much shaking, a breeze, just about any disturbance in The Force will drop one like a rock. I'm actually impressed that they make it from the Palo kitchen to the dining room intact.

| So can you get one while sitting at the bar having a drink in Palo? I would be willing to even pay the 15.00?

| We enjoyed the creme brulee at Triton's and asked about it when we were at Animator's Palate and our wait staff discretely got it for us. I would inquire about getting the souffle early in your meal to allow prep time, transport time and to cut down on your wait time. Hopefully your request will be fulfilled or they can let you know how you might come to enjoy it without dining at Palo.

| If you have the right dining room server, and have established a good relationship with him/her, and you ask just the right way.... maybe, just maybe this can happen for you. It's definitely not routine magic. Especially if you've got kids, I'd save all the server's "magic making" for your routine dining needs. Head up to Palo, ask the maitre d' if it'd be possible to sit at the bar to enjoy dessert sometime (even that is not a commonly granted request), and if that works out, tuck the kids into the kids' program at the appointed time and enjoy the souffle hot out of the kitchen, the way it was intended.

| OK, I give. It will be more important that our son has a magical experience at dinner. Not only that, but we do make it at home already using the recipe from AllEars, so it's not like it is a once in a lifetime thing. I was wondering how much better the "real thing" was, although I don't care TOO much if it's right out of the oven. I've been known to eat two leftover souffles the next day after eating 3 the night they we made them... repeat after me: choclotate is good. We'll try for the drinks/dessert route you reccommended, Dave. That does seem like the best bet. Thanks all for info. Got to go, all this talk has me ready to go see if I have enough eggs the fridge to make some up now... |

| chocolate is good. We regularly get 73.5% and have about a half pound of 99%. The latter is actually a little too extreme. Real chocolate, though.

| Oh yeah, one more thing. If you live in the right city, try the chocolate souffle at Roy's. It's spectacular. Carol also recommends the butterfish. Roy's Restaurant - Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine

| We live in the sticks, so no Roy's for us. We'll have to keep our eyes open when traveling for one. All you chocolate lover's should be aware that there actually is a very healthy chocolate bar out there called CocoaVia. It isn't cheap, but a little goes long way. We can only find them online around here right now, but maybe you'll get lucky and find them in the health food area in drug stores. |
