| Dolphin Swim in Nassau I'm trying to hear from other people who took part in the Dolphin Swim in Nassau. Was it a lot of fun. I notice you have to book it separate with the company. How do you think and 8-year old kid would handle it? How much did a cost to take a taxi from the cruise ship terminal to the ferry terminal? Pike |

| We did it this past December, my wife and I. We loved it. Not sure about booking direct with the company though. We booked ours through the DCL website. There were lots of children; some were having a great time, others seemed a bit nervous of the dolphins. We did the encounter, not the swim. The encounter is where you get in the water, dance with them, touch them, get a kiss etc. It was great. The only thing about doing it in December was that the water was actally quite cool. I have pics and video if you are interested.

| I just got finished booking this dolphin encounter for our 12-21 cruise. Our little one is 8 and can't WAIT to touch a dolphin for REAL! LOL I would LOVE to see pics or a video if you didn't mind!! I didn't even think about the water being cold...do you think it will be TOO cold for us in December? We have never been on a cruise so I don't know anything about how this weather is going to be. Thanks! |

oeshpdog2's Xanga Site You will have to scroll back to some of the older posts (December 2007) and you can see the pictures in our albums (Disney 2007). Our profile pic on the blog was taken at that excursion. You will enjoy it.

| unless they've changed it, the one DCL offers is the smaller program. the larger program which involves the actual swimming experience (is that right?) has to be booked directly. i did the larger program. the swim portion is actually more of a foot push (where the dolphin pushes you above the water by your feet). but there's also a bit of time in the water with the dolphin and basic interaction. i'd probably not do it again (i did have to sacrifice spending time at the aquarium which i wanted to do), but it was worth doing. granted i took time doing other things (did the 'walking tour' of the city including areas you probably don't want to visit, walked all the way to and across the bridge to the island). ![]()
