| First cruise after drydock....good or bad? We are booked on the first cruise after the Wonder comes out of drydock in October 2009. I am worried about this now...about whether or not things will be "ready". I read a trip report on another board about the Magic after drydock and it was not pretty. Has anyone here been on the first cruise after a drydock stay? Was it good, bad or ugly? I am worried, but I don't think I can shift our dates due to DH's vacation schedule and DD school schedule.

| Each drydock is different. Generally, folks report very good experiences after drydock. However, every so often, the cruise line and ship yard don't get everything done in the alloted time, and it affects the first cruise following dry dock. They bust their guts to avoid that, though. Most cruisers over the years report great experiences with the "new car smell."

| Thanks Dave. This makes me feel better. Especially since I learned that if I wanted to move our cruise back a week, it would cost us an additional $1300.00! Hopefully, all will go well. This is our first cruise and DD gift to celebrate her first communion.

| I have only heard of one "truly bad" experience, but it involved a ship that had extensive remodeling. The report was that people were still working the first morning at sea. And that maybe 20 bookings (out of 1800) were cancelled because the rooms were unavailable. But the cruise line later admitted that they had been rather optimistic in their scheduling.
