| We've narrowed it down to two completely different excursions but can't seem to make a decision which one to go for. Both are pretty expensive and I'm just not sure if either one (or both) would be worth the money... Here are the two choices: Option A: Tulum Ruins My personal pros: Going to the mainland, getting to see Mayan ruins My personal cons: Long ferry and bus ride there and back, not the ruins I really wanna see (which would be Chichen Itza) Option B: Dolphin Swim at Dolphinaris My personal pros: Swimming with a dolphin - how cool is that! My personal cons: It's really expensive and only takes 40 min... I'd consider doing the Dolphin Discovery Cozumel instead of the Dolphin Swim at Dolphinaris as well since it's about $40 less. I don't know what to do, and we gotta make a decision this week. I really need help with this one!

| We haven't done either at that port, but we loved the dolphin excursion at Nassau. It seems that I have read something that most of the ruins are disappointing...

| We did Dolphinaris in April - it was well worth it and it was a (very) short ride from where we docked. What was great about it was that being close we could have saved a few $$$ and booked it ourselves (an option for you), plus we were able to walk and shop around town first! We thought about the ruins but it just seemed so far and so long a day. Good luck deciding. Dolphinaris was great! |

| [quote=Disneybine;2513495]We've narrowed it down to two completely different excursions but can't seem to make a decision which one to go for. Both are pretty expensive and I'm just not sure if either one (or both) would be worth the money... Here are the two choices: When we went to Cozumel two years ago. We wnet with Moby Dick for $35.00 an adult and $25.00 for the kids. they were great and would write us back in email we did not pay until we got there. They made sure we were back hours before the ship left. They gave us the bus ride we got on a clean boat with only 30 people not over booked some from our boat some from other ships. Then we went to the middle of the ocean and could stand up (weird) and we feed the sting rays that is still the best thing of the whole trip for my hubby and me. They give you as much food as you want to feed them for 40 minutes and then get back on the boat and go down like 10 minutes and go snorkeling they give you everything you need. That was so cool we saw nemos (clown fish) then they gave you fruit juice to drink. Then took you back to the bus and then back to the ship dock. When tyou on the bus sit up front so you can listen to the bus driver it was great and educational. You will see the queens house and stuff. I would do that again and the price was super cheap and the people are very clean. I got the name from a cruise site when I went two years ago. Hope this helps! |

| I wanted to see some of the Mayan ruins, but we didn't do that. We did the Dolphinaris Dolphin Swim and enjoyed it very much... how cool is it to swim with a dolphin?... it's as cool as it gets in the water!!

| Thanks for your input, guys! Hubby and I talked about this again last night and we both felt that since we can't go to Chichen Itza, swimming with a dolphin would be a far more exciting experience than seeing the Tulum ruins ) is very steep but we're willing to give it a shot at least once. I'm so excited! Now I can't wait to get on that ship and sail to Cozumel ![]()

| As you know, I'm very happy you decided on the Dolphin Swim! I wish Brenda and I could be there with you for that... so, you have to relive your cruise with a TR so we can relive ours!!

| San Garivaso on Cozumel is disappointing. We went there many, many years ago. It was okay, but nothing like the ruins you expect to see.

| Is San Garivaso the ruins for the Disney excursion? I did a search on here to find out about the disney excursion to the ruins. I thought it was Tulum ruins. I couldn't find out much about the ruins. They mostly talked about the ferry ride and the beach outing. I'm really prone to motion sickness and can't take bonine or dramamine, so am worried about the 20-30 min. ferry ride. I was considering just sending DH with my boys because the kids are really interested in it but after reading this, I wonder if it's worth it though?

| Tulum is the Disney excursion (and most of the others, but you need to read carefully). Michelle, if you can't take anything for motion sickness, then I strongly recommend that you not do this excursion. The Cozumel Strait can be very nasty. In the past two months, the ferry has been canceled on several occasions due to bad weather. I don't know of any cruise ships missing the port, but the port has been closed to small vessels about 13 times in the last 90 days.

| O.K., definitely not for me. Thanks for the input! I do wear the seabands and took ginger on our last cruise and was just fine, but it was such a smooth sailing. I'm not sure those things can help with a rough ferry ride. It's just not worth feeling rotten.
