On our last cruise, my mom and I went to several of the cooking classes and enjoyed them very much. I tried to take my 15 year old daughter but they would not let her stay. Does anyone know what the age requirement is and why there is one? I understand that the little ones might be a distraction but 15? She's going to be 16 by our next cruise and my mom and I want to enjoy this again and I really want to share it with her.

I guess I'm venting a little.
Thanks,Andria
If you're referring to the "Art of Entertaining", I believe the age limit is 18, primarily because they want adults to have their own activities. Maybe I'm becoming an old fart at the age of 39, but I do like having certain areas/activities for just "adults".
The minimum age for this kind of activity is normally 18. That goes for the Art of Entertaining, Disney Navigator Series, Disney Behind the Scenes, and the galley tours. Let's look at it this way - you can't participate in the Teen program activities, either.

I'm an older fart than you but I do appreciate the alternate viewpoint. It is still a little disappointing. The big difference here is I DON'T WANT TO DO THE TEEN ACTIVITIES. Unfortunately she is shy and introverted and doesn't want to do them either so I am left trying to find fun things we can do together. Oh yeah, with grandma too!
But you made me think that before the next cruise I need to learn more about what teen activities there are and start talking to her about them earlier.

Thanks all!
From what I understand, the counselors at The Stack do a FANTASTIC job of getting kids integrated right from the start. Your daughter sounds a lot like mine in terms of social skills, but after she visited The Stack, we didn't see her for the rest of the cruise, except for dinner, and sometimes not even then!
We stopped by the teen area on our first cruise and my daughter wouldn't even go up the stairs.
I pulled out my Passporters book (which I alwasy carry with me) so I could check the activities and noted that the age requirements is 13. My son will be just a few months shy of 13. Have you ever heard of them waivering this? My son has no problems with shyness and my daughter will go if he goes. We are also taking my 15 year old nephew so it would be nice if they could all hang out together.

Nope to both cost and reservations! On my last cruise (7 day western) they were held around 10am on at sea days. You get to watch the show, sample the fare, and you get the recipe to take home with you. My mom and I really enjoyed it!
