| Suggestions for Solos Sharing Cabin A friend and I will be sharing a cabin on a 4-night cruise in January. We're trying to get a feel for what kinds of stuff we will need to plan to split ourselves and what having two room keys will cover. For example, what about tips? Will they give us one set of tip envelopes or two? If we have drinks with dinner, will they take a key from each of us? What else do we need to worry about? mk |

| My guess is that you would receive one set of tip envelopes for the cabin. However, you could each go to Guest Services to pay for tips and then put two vouchers in each envelope. (Of course, you could also put in cash.) For drinks, you could each present your own key. We've always had just one credit card for our cabin's account, but the printouts of charges have showed whose key was used for each charge. Someone may be along who's actually been in this situation and has more information. Happy planning, Melissa

| I traveled with a roommate last year. We each had our own credit card on our room keys. When we purchased drinks at dinner, we just made sure each of us gave the server our cards. As for tips, if you receive only one set of envelopes, go to Guest Services for a second set. Have a great time!

| Sounds like your original questions were answered. One thing I'd add. Whenever I travel with someone, I try to discuss any ground rules that might be important. The cabins are small and the togetherness can be challenging for even close friends. When I cruised with a friend once, her important rule was that she likes a quiet tea time alone in the morning, and, for her, breakfast is important. For me, I like alone-time breaks to read or write. We discussed this before the trip so no one felt hurt or took it personally when the other needed alone time. Alone time is just one thing to discuss. Activities, excursions, how to handle onboard romances, or even dining times might be best discussed early on. Hope you have a fun trip.

| One more question just occurred to me: I'm a CC member but my friend is not. I'll have the ability to make shore excursion/spa/Palo reservations before she would if she was in her own cabin. If she wants a spa treatment/excursion on her own, can I make that at the 90d mark for her? We're both used to traveling with our separate families. I'm sure we'll be fine, but the "cashless society" thing is throwing us and we just don't want to be blindsided and staring blankly at the CM when they ask us how we want to pay for ________ or book _______. Knowing us, we'd both end up paying! LOL! mk |

| I traveled with a friend on the Panama Repo last year and they gave us each our own set of tip envelopes. We each put our own credit cards on record so that we'd have separate charge-privileges on our room keys. I was a CC member and she was not. She chose to wait until boarding to make decisions on excursions or spa treatments, so I went ahead and booked my own on line. I did make Palo reservations for us both. We met for meals and a few activities, but for the most part did our own thing. We've traveled together before and had worked out the details already, so it worked out great.
