| Verandah differences ?? Hi Everyone . It's been a long time since I've been here!! I am back with cruise questions. I have never done a Disney cruise before , but now finally have a few families wanting to try to plan for Feb 2011. Seems sooooo far away when I say it ...hahaha. I've been doing all my research on it all ,and am wondering what is the difference between a Navigators verandah and just Verandah ??? The only thing I ever see is " a white wall ". While I'm on stateroom questions , is decks 1 and 2 not a good idea? I've always been told to try and stay as close to the middle (1/2 way up ) so as to not feel the ships movement as much. Any help would be greatly appreciated ....and I'm sure I'll be back with more questions Thanks !!!!

| Welcome back ![]() A regular verandah is a plexiglass wall with railings, & you can see thru the plexiglass. A navigator's verandah is like a wall with a large porthole in it. You can find a good pic of it on CASTAWAYCLUB.COM under "staterooms". And of course, you'll want to get a new DCL PassPorter to get all the good plannign details. No experience w/ 1 & 2 decks personally, but from what I understand folks don't notice a huge difference in these vs. say deck 5 since the ship has stabilizers. Someone else will come along w/ better info I'm sure. I do know that a con to saying on deck 2 is that you may end up under a nightclub or near machinery, but a pro is that when teh ship docks, you are first out, and have an easier time getting back to your room. Happy Planning

| Actually, the lower you are on the ship, the less you'll feel side-to-side (rolling) motion. To feel the least up-and-down (pitching) you want to be midship (halfway between bow and stern). I don't suggest deck 1, as the outside staterooms have small portholes rather than much larger picture portholes. Also, deck 1 staterooms only occupy part of that deck (the rest is crew's quarters), so you can't access the aft elevator bank (making it a bit harder to get to meals).
