My head is spinning!!!

Okay, so we all know that we can book the Dream starting on the 9th (those of low-lifes that are only Castaway Silver at this point- ). I, however, must have been stuck under some kind of rock and not reading my travel-agent emails thoroughly enough because I just found this out!!!

I'm busy planning our May 2010 trip--our first trip as DVC members. we just bought air last week and tomorrow I make our ADR's...and now I am thinking "should we book a trip on the Dream?"

Am I crazy to be thinking about booking our 2011 trip next week when I haven't even gotten my head totally around the 2010 trip!?!?

If we do the Dream (which we always said we wanted to do in the inaugural year), we're hoping for the May 29th 5-day-double-dip. What do you think? Bite the bullet and the deposit $$ and book it?! Or wait awhile till we get more of the $ for the 2010 trip set aside?!

I don't think it's crazy to be planning another trip a year after your next trip. If the May 29 cruise includes Memorial Day, it is likely to be popular, but I don't know how quickly the Dream cruises will be filling up.

If you can truly afford to tie up the deposit money (or if you have a Disney Visa to put it on so you can pay it off over 6 months), I'd go ahead and book soon (although not necessarily on Monday, since wait times will probably be crazy). With so many sailings in 2011 (and so many rooms on the Dream), though, it's probably safe to hold off a little while if that makes you more comfortable.

Happy planning!
Melissa

I agree - if you can afford to tie up the deposit money, then I'd put it down and know that you've got that sailing. I shouldn't even be contemplating anything on the Dream in 2011, but I am. It's very appealing and now I really don't know what to do...

Remember if you book while onboard youd get a discount and possibly onboard credit. Were on a cruise in Sept 2010 and thinking of trying to book a Dream in 2011 probably October time. Were gonna wait it out and try while onboard.

If i had the $ to tie up, I'd book for 2011 asap. I'm curious to know what people think about that vs. booking onboard our 2010 for a discount. I'd rather do that, but am a bit afraid of my date not being available. Is that improbable?

I'd book it if you can afford it! We've done that as well, since we've booked both our cruises out at 18 months, and always had a Disney trip in between!

marisag checked into this for me as far as onboard bookings, and here is what she was told:
Quote:
According to the CM I spoke with- you will not get the discount for the first THREE sailings of the Dream. (They had told us only for the inaugaral last night). After that you will get a discount but they had not been told how much it will be. She did say you would get the onboard credit for any of the sailings. She also said the reduced deposit is not available for the Dream. Hope that helps. I am sure we will learn more in the coming weeks.
