You could fit five passengers, but not five large suitcases. The car rental companies often include luggage capacity in their info - number of large and small suitcases. Avis rates the Impala as two large suitcases and two small. Budget shows a Taurus as two small, two medium, and two large suitcases. I doubt you'd do a whole lot better, even with bungee cords. You'll probably also find, if your read the fine print, that bungee cords will violate the rental agreement.

Considering the round-trip cost of DCL transfers, you should be able to swing the cost of a full-size minivan. Those will handle five passengers and plenty of luggage.

We are a large group and we plan to rent a minivan rather than use Disney Transport.

I rented an intermediate (we ended up with some Mitsubishi thing) and that BARELY held 2 suitcases! Trunks are definitely not what they used to be!

We are a family of two adults and two teens. We had a chevy impala on the way from the airport to hotel at Port Canaveral (we packed for 3 days prior to the cruise and 7 day cruise). My 13 year old sat in the front, we had a suitcase jammed between him and my DH. I was in the back with my 17 year old DS with a carryon between my legs, one on my lap and bags between us. The trunk was crammed. It was doable, but not comfortable. It was a short trip from MCO to PC hotel, so it was o.k. On the way back we had a buick lacrosse which was the next bump up (only 5.00 more when I booked it- WAY worth the money, little did I know) and it was SO much more comfortable with no bags on my lap, etc. The trunk held more, I guess.

I guess you have to figure out what the difference in cost between the two categories is and if it's worth it to you/what kind of budget you are on. I think I'd go 10.00-15.00 more for the next category, but not higher - given it's a short trip from MCO to PC and even shorter to the car rental place where you get a shuttle to the port.
