Shutters Photo Package Question

Really fast question for all of you. Since it will be like 4 years since we last sailed I was wondering does shutters still offer photo packages. I am just working up a budget for the trip? I am hoping so since last time I did not buy one and I spent a lot of money on photos of the kids. I just could not pick one or two or three. Ok I bought almost all of them.

I'm pretty sure they have packages; someone else will come along that knows for sure.....

Did you mean your sailing in 4 years or 4 months?

Is there still one for a CD with every picture on it? DH and I discussed it and he and I both felt it was worth it since I like to make hardcover, digital albums using blurb.com. Of course, 'worth it' depends on how much it costs.

Good question...I did not see it listed...but I found the packages are 89.95, 149.00, 199.00. I figure we would have saved 100.00 bucks on the last cruise had we done the package. So I am thinking I am going to do the package this time around.

I think for that price I will stick to the photos and the photo release which you can get online and it is free. I am not paying that for a cd. Heck the pack for 200.00 would save me 100.00 from what I spent last time.

The nice thing is that you don't have to buy the package before you buy your pictures. Just buy pictures as you find them, keep the receipts, and you can upgrade to a package that fits towards the end of your cruise. That way you don't buy a bigger (or smaller) package than you need!

Also the creidts are not necessarily 1 credit = 1 picture. If I remember from a recent TR, the 8x10 size is 2 credits. I think the 6x8 size is 1 credit. Not sure if they have sizes other than those.

I just got off the Magic a couple of weeks ago. I purchased the $149 package the first night and was told if I didnt get 20 credits worth at the end, they would refund. an 8x10 was 2 credits and a 5x7 (may have been smaller?) was one credit.

Also, they will start a folder for you behind the desk so if you pull all your pictures as you see them, you can make a final decision on the last night on which ones you want. I took all of my pics for the whole week and went to the promenade lounge and took my time looking and deciding (hard to do!!)

Have fun!

Just FYI, the packages are the same on the Dream.

What is especially cool on the Dream is that everyone's photos are collected in individual portfolios that are stored on bookshelves. They use facial recognition software to identify all photos that include you, and they put them right into the portfolio for you. Shutters on the Dream has very few display boards. Most of the space is taken up by bookshelves filled with portfolios.

The way this works is that, when you get your photo taken as you board the Dream, they use your Key to the World cards, just as if it was a PhotoPass card. They then can associate your face with your stateroom number. From then on, they don't even need your Key to the World card - the computer already knows how to recognize you. You can review your photos at kiosks around the ship - just swipe your Key to the World card and it brings up all your photos. You can even look at your photo portfolio on your stateroom TV (it can be pretty shocking the first time you tune in and see yourselves right on screen).

Can you share the CD with the rest of your party if you are traveling with extended family. I understand that it will find all the photos of the kids with grandma and grandpa, but will i be able to put photos of just grandma and grandpa on my cd?
