Did I make the right choice??

Hi Everyone !!

Our first cruise is quickly approaching !! Will be on a Western in February. I booked our excursions and was able to secure a Palo dinner as well !! I'm hoping I picked the right night for Palo ?!?!

I'm looking forward to seeing all the restaurants, and have just recently read something about a "show" at Annimators. Not really sure what that is , but since I don't want to miss anything ...I'm second guessing my choice.

I picked Day 4 , Grand Cayman @ 7 pm . We have first seating for dinner. We thought this way , we could at least spend time with our DD and the rest of our extended family, before we headed to Palo.

Would love some advice from all you seasoned cruisers out there if I should look into switching once on board !!

TIA !!

You should be okay, I think regardless of your dining rotation the "show" night at AP is one of those first 3 nights on a 7-night cruise. But, I am sure someone else will chime in if I am wrong.

I'll chime in to say unewillow's right! The fourth night is a good choice for Palo when you're on a 7-night itinerary.

The "show" in Animator's Palate is the whole transition of the room decor from black and white to color as the dinner progresses, orchestrated to one of my favorite Disney soundtracks. The servers and kitchen staff also have to keep pace with the "show," which makes it the most challenging dinner to serve during the course of the cruise. As a result, they only do the show once per dining rotation per cruise, rather than every time you dine there. Remaining dinners have regular background music and non-changing decor - mostly black and white, with some color accents.

Another vote for it being ok. I scheduled Palo for our fourth night on the Dec 4-11 eastern and it worked out great. Sure, we missed the pirate night menu (not sure when pirate night is on the western), but I still made the deck party and had a great time.

Night 4 is the perfect night for Palo and is usually the one I recommend. Like mentioned above the "show" is done only during the first stop at Animator's. No need to second guess yourself ; Have a magical trip!
