Two Porthole Deluxe Family Stateroom

I noticed on the Disney Cruise Line website that a category 8A Deluxe Family Stateroom has what appears to be a wall that separtes the bed and the couch. There was only one generic picture of this type of room. Does anyone know where I can find more pictures of this type of room ?

I'm not sure where you're finding that. The Category 8 description page has a slide show with 8 images, 3 floor plan views, and 360-degree viewer. The difference between 8A and 8B, C, and D is that 8A has two smaller portholes (still reasonably good-sized), rather than one large one.

There isn't a wall. As in most categories, there's a privacy curtain between bed and sofa that can be closed. On the DCL floor plans (above) there's a brown line drawn to indicate the location of the closed curtain, and you can see the white curtain pulled over to one side. On the deck plans in PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line, we show a dashed line in the curtain's location.

We were in room 5022 a category 8A room on the Disney Dream.

You are right, there is a wall that divides the room and there are two portholes.

Check out our review:
Williams Family: Stateroom 5022 on the Disney Dream

It even includes video so you can get a better look! The only downfall--no split bath. We didn't care!

Have a great cruise!

Thank you so much for the information ! We are sailing Thursday and will rebook onboard. I think we would like to try this type of room. One question I did have: Is there a pull down from the ceiling twin bed or is the couch the only other bed besides the queen bed ?

Couch only--no pull down from the wall or ceiling. Our stateroom host did say that they could bring in a rollaway bed if it was needed. My guess it would go between the closets and the couch.

These rooms are awesome for a family of 3! Lots of space!

Many of these staterooms only sleep three. There are several on deck 5 with the two portholes and dividing wall. They also have two TV's. I know some of the 8 A's on deck 6 have a pole in the room and not the wall. They also don't have a split bath or privacy curtain. Some are just a large open room. All Cat 8's are large. These just have a different layout. They supposedly have the square footage.

I'm a little late in seeing this post, but here are a few pictures of this type of stateroom (5022 to be exact on this one)...

This is the living room area with the fold down couch/bed

The bedroom area with a glimpse of the wall at the very left of the picture (I'm standing in the open area next to the wall, in between the two rooms

And a shot of the bedroom without the wall in view

If I remember correctly, there are 10 of these staterooms on the ship. Good luck in snagging one!

My DM and youngest DS had one this summer on the Dream. It had the half wall between the sides, so each bed had their own tv. We booked this category of room for our 2013 cruise on the Fantasy. We got rooms on a different deck, so there is a pole in the room rather than the 1/2 wall. I know we lose the split bath, but the rooms were soooo big! We got connecting rooms for our next cruise and we can't wait. The rooms are so bright, too, with the 2 full size portholes. I included a few photos...

Thanks to everyone who posted pictures and information. I will be sailing on the Dream in May and this is the room I booked. Does anyone know if any of these cabins have the berth with the images?

Only rooms with an upper berth have that. While sometimes a "sleeps 3" still has an upper berth (they just refuse to book it for more than 3), you can't count on it. If you need to sleep 4 and they give you one of these rooms, then it's a safer assumption that there's an upper berth.

Nice pics. My family and I are booked in one of these (Cat 8A GTY) for the inaugural Fantasy cruise in the end of March. My question is this. All are of the 8A's like this? If so, that would be great.
