Disney Magic on our side!!! Cabana booked!
I am still in shock!! Our Dream Cruise is in 38 days and since we are 1st time cruisers, we didn't stand much of a chance to getting a Family Cabana on Castaway Cay but I was diligent in checking the excursions 2-3 times daily. A miracle happened this evening when to our surprise Cabana #9 was available and we booked it. We even got the Disney confirmation email which must make it official. It still feels like a dream!!

We have always thought the price was steep for the cabanas but our DS has Asbergers (although mild) and really needs a "safe haven" at times to get away from crowds and we felt the cabanas would offer us that very safe haven place.

We feel so so lucky and must have had Disney Magic working in our favor!!

So, if you are in the same situation, keep trying!!

Anyone have any report on Cabana #9?

Silly question: When do we pay for the cabana or is it charged to our ship account?

That is great! I just booked cabana 8 for myself on our next cruise. We had #15 last time and it was a bit of the main beach area. All the cabanas are basically the same. Cabana #1 did not have a hammock.
I think you will really enjoy it!
