While at a gathering, several friends mentioned to me that I have to run in the Castaway Cay 5K. They had all run it and had fun. I can't find anything about it, so I'm guessing it's something they put in the Navigator because they may not do it every time. Does anyone know about this? I'd like to run it if it's offered, but won't bother with my running gear if it's not.
When my DH did the CC5K in '09, he recieved a Magical Moments certificate from CM Chance, who not only coordinated the race, but ran with the runners as well. The runners all had to meet at the brow (where you disembark) and congregated at Marge's Barge's (this was around 8am) and the course was basically just the bike trail, with the addition of some distance on the runway. His memory of the finish line is fuzzy, but he thinks it was near the bike rental area. Hope this helps, and DH says he's happy to try and "de-fuzz" his memory if you have any other questions!
If it is run as a race, it'll be listed in the Personal Navigator for your Castaway Cay day, which you'll receive in your stateroom the evening before. All instructions will be available there.

It's more in the category of a ''fun-run", than an actual race. That being said, DH also mentioned that there were some serious 5K runners, so maybe you will find some competitiveness, if that's what you're looking/hoping for.
He found out about the CC5K through the Personal Navigator. He really liked the "event", and his enthusiasm has convinced the rest of us that it's something that we would all enjoy doing together. And best of all, it was a free activity!
Hope this helps you!
