My family and I are booked for a cruise on the Dream in May, followed by 5 days at WDW. Can't wait! This is our second Disney cruise and the last time we stayed right in Port Canaveral and ended up taking a taxi to the port (husband way too excited to wait for the free shuttle to leave!). This time we have decided to stay near the airport and just head down that morning for our 11:00 checkin. I now need to figure out transportation. We have received a pretty decent round trip quote from a taxi driver (who we used recently during a WDW vacation). I am worried about reliability esp. when we get off of the cruise. I have called Happy Limo and their quote was significantly more. I am nervous about them as I have read some bad reviews out there about both Happy Limo and Quicksilver. I would love to hear from others as to what mode of transportation worked best. There are 6 of us. Private taxi, Happy Limo or Quicksilver? Thanks for your help!!
Personally I have had good luck with Happy Limo and have heard great things about Quicksilver. I would feel more comfortable with a town car company than a taxi.
Thanks Sara! I am so excited that you replied to my message. I listen to you and Jennifer on the podcast every week and really trust your opinion. I am calling Quicksilver now to see their pricing vs. Happy Limo.
The problem with an individual driver is that if he/she is unexpectedly busy or delayed, who will cover your booking? Certainly ask any individual driver this, to be sure the issue is covered.

One important thing to remember about bad reviews is that most people are more willing to complain than to praise. There are places like Cruise Critic where I do the old Olympic ice skating judges thing. Throw out the high and the low. I know there was one guy there who had four or five different IDs and was constantly ragging on Carnival. But if you're going to do that, at least vary your writing style. And DON'T MISSPELL THE SAME WORDS.
I've heard lots of good things about Happy and would recommend them. No opinion or information on Quicksilver.

Really good point, Dave. It's important to eliminate as many opportunities for failure as you can.
