DCL will be extending the hours of the popular Palo brunch to allow more guests the opportunity to book it. The extended hours however will mean the Palo high tea will no longer be offered. This will be taking effect on the following dates:
Disney Magic – 8/10/12
Disney Wonder – 8/13/12
Disney Dream – 7/22/12
Disney Fantasy – 8/13/12
It makes sense as many guests want the Palo brunch but I know several people in our group next January will be disappointed about the tea going away.
I see this starts for the Magic right before it begins its Galveston tour. So this should be in effect for our cruise.
I am glad as this is my first Disney cruise (any cruise really) and really wanted to try brunch but knew that my odds were low. Now maybe I will get the chance.
I like this - Palo brunch is harder to get than dinner, since it only happens on at-sea days. Since the same guest could have booked both brunch and tea, this gives more folks a crack at brunch.
Thanks for reporting that, John.

I like this, too. Brunch is so hard to get this will give more people a chance. Maybe they could add a tea at one of the other restaurants on sea days. I think it's more the idea of High Tea that appeals to people rather than, specifically, Palo's spin on it.
I think this is a really positive change, given the popularity of brunch and hopefully that should make it easier for everyone to enjoy it during their cruise.
I think it's a good move. We finally were able to get tea on our Alaskan cruise this June for the first time in four cruises (because it seems the cruise is only half full). Even though we are CC members it is so hard and rare to book, that I think making way for more brunch is a smarter move.
I for one will miss the "High Tea" : ( and I hope they don't do away with it entirely. It is a totally different experience from Brunch and one I have always enjoyed. I read that DCL was going to open up REMY for additional Brunch times in addition to PALO. I hope that will open up Brunch for everyone who wants to book it and I hope that "High Tea" will remain somehow even if it's in a different venue.

Sigh, we leave on June 16th on the Disney Fantasy. I would kill for any type of rez for either of the restaurants. We're trying to decide if we'll take the transfer or rent a car and blow over to the port. Of course, I guess that depends on our boarding group. I can't remember and I'm too lazy right now. I shouldn't even be up right now, drove too much yesterday and didn't get to bed until early this morning.
