Guest services Autographs

Hi everyone, I've read several times that people have gotten autographed items through guest services on the cruise.. I have a dilemma as I want to get my daughter a pillowcase signed but I also have a niece and nephew that may never meet Mickey .. Do you think it is possible that they will consider signing three items for me? (I will be including a nice goodie bag for the CM's to enjoy as well..)
Your thoughts?

The autographing is done on the crew members' own time, and there have been times when DCL has considered ending the practice because the crew was becoming over-burdened (for the crew members' own protection, essentially).

My recommendation is to ask for no more autographed items than there are guests in the stateroom (no more than one item per person), and preferably only for the children in the stateroom.

We all love to spread the magic, but sometimes we can spread it so much that it breaks. There are certain tips that we don't put in our guidebooks for just that reason.

Hi there! We took personalized pillow cases with us on our cruise - 5 of them - 5 of us on the cruise (2 adults and 3 kidlets). When I took the pillow cases down to guest services I was told that there is a limit of three per stateroom. (Or could they have said that because we had three children??) We were on the Dream in November 2011.

Do you have to supply your own markers? Just thought this might be a nice souvenir.

I leave my own Sharpies. The one time I didn't everything was signed in black ink. I leave my sharpies and have always gotten them all back.

We took fabric markers and out them in the bag with the pillow case. They were returned to us.

Thank you for the advice... Have decided to drop one item at GS, as my dd will be on the cruise with us and bring along two Disney storybooks that I will have autographed as we meet specific characters for my niece and nephew.

There is a limit to the amount of items you can have autographed. I believe it is 2 per stateroom. I placed my photo mat along with my colored sharpies and some candy for the crew in a big bag and took it down to guest services. When I got there they had me fill out a slip of paper with my room number and asked which characters would I like to autograph the item. They also had a line for any additional or favorite characters that you might like. I chose the "classic" characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. I also asked if Stitch could sign it since my DD is a Stitch fan too. The signed photomat and sharpies were returned to me by the end of the cruise and it turned out beautiful!

You answered my question before I had a chance to ask! I didn't realize that the crew did this on their own time. I was going to ask how I could give a tip to the crew for signing the pillow case for me. Now I know! I'll include a treat for them with a thank you note in the bag with the pillow case. Great idea!

Just cruised April 1, 2012. We brought along my daughter's best friend who is one of five kids. We had hoped to have 5 pillowcases signed (one for each of them) and they said there was a limit of 2 items per stateroom, so we only got 2 pillowcases signed.

We did include our own markers (and got them all back) as well as Easter bags with lots of candy (and gum). One pillowcase was signed by the classic characters in red, green, blue, etc. (advice - DON'T use yellow - it doesn't show up well at all). The other was signed in pastels by the Princesses.

Both look fabulous!
