Anyone have recommendations for excursions they have done in Grand Cayman and Cozumel for a group of 4 adults and 2 teen girls (age 15)? We are sailing on the Magic in late March 2013. I looked at Disney's offerings and so many sound good. Anyone do something they would definately do again?
We did Stingray City in GC. You could probably do that on your own for cheaper than Disney. Definitely worth it though! For Cozumel, we did the Fury Catamaran, and again, something that we would definitely do again. Only issues with that was it got back to the ship right about 5:30 and it was Pirate night (and we had main seating). Lots of rushing. And the current was very strong on the beach that we went to. But teen girls should be able to handle that better than a 10 and 7 YO that we had!
Both were great fun. We wished the Punta Sur excursion included lunch, though it was available for purchase. We really got to see the Disney difference in Grand Cayman.
Have a great cruise!
I see from your signature picture you sailed in February, how was the water temps then?? I am hoping it will be cool and not cold for us in late March.
We (4 adults) are doing the Western Caribbean on the Fantasy at the end of August. I have really been having a hard time picking excursions too. I think we want to do ruins (not Tulum, its too far), snorkeling and maybe the submarine but we can't decide to what to do where. I was really interested to do the Fury catarmaran but I can't get ready for early dinner that fast. I have too much hair. Any thoughts are helpful.

Grand Cayman and Cozumel water temps were warm, low 80's. Perfect Heading back again Feb 2013.
We're also interested. We're sailing in the Fantasy in december. I've being reading about the excursions and have a difficult time deciding. We discussed to do the ruins excursion and another one. We've already done dolphin encounter and swim (twice in Bahamas) and it is so much fun, but probably not for third time LOL.
We're looking for other options. We would love to do some scuba diving but DD will be 9.
We just returned from the Western itinerary and did the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel and loved it! We had an early excursion time 8:45 so we finished early enough to do a little shopping in town and still make it back for our early seating dinner.
We did th helmet dive in GC. My two teen sons really wanted to do it. I was so scared, but told them I'd try. I really didn't think I'd ever accomplish it though! I've always has an extreme fear of drowning. It took 3 divers and a lot of time to get me down the ladder, but I'm so glad they were so patient with me. It was a very cool experience and believe it or not I'm less frightened of drowning now.
We went to Boatswains (I think that's how you spell it)
on GC and it was really cool. My husband got to hold this cute baby turtle. They have all sizes o endangered turtles, and a nursery with eggs. And there is a beach area to lay out there and you can snorkel with iguanas and turtles and other cool stuff in the lagoon they have.
At Cozumel we took an open air bus to this beautiful beach and we got to see a little ruin and then swim and snorkel. That beach was amazing!
