Hi! Its coming up on cruise time again, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend good pre-cruise hotels in Galveston? I realize Disney isn't in Galveston quite yet, but here's hoping someone is familiar with the area from past experiences.
We'll have 3 adults and I'm in need of parking recommendations as well.
I don't have the info at my fingertips, but we have all that in the upcoming edition of the DCL guide.
Parking recommendations depend, in part, on where you stay. Some hotels offer free cruise parking/free shuttle, others charge something (though usually not a lot). If you don't park at the hotel, you'll find several independent parking lots within a few blocks of the terminal, and you can use the official cruise terminal parking as well (those are remote lots - you'd drop off your passengers and luggage, park, and take the shuttle back). The port also operates a parking garage across the street from the terminal, but it's been closed for construction. I don't know if it'll be up and running by November.
For hotels we have five or six written-up, at various price ranges and locations on the island.

There are 2 DCL Terminals, 2502 and 2702 Harborside Dr. in Galveston and several well known hotels such as La Quenta, Howard Johnson, Holiday, Confort, Best Western and others.
Each hotel probably have their own parking.
As for past experiences you will have to wait for others whom will reply here. Of course maybe you are acquainted with one of these hotels or want to see the complete list.
There are several parking lots for cruise line parking the closest being Galveston Park n Cruise and Ez Cruise Parking about one to two blocks further away. There are other parking lots further away.
If you use Google Map it will list each hotel by name and show you their location as well as the parking lots to Disney Cruise Lines.
