| If your going to Atlantis, we recomend the taxi over the ferry! For those of you who have a stop at Nassau and are planning on heading to the Atlantis resort, think about taking a taxi over the ferry! Cab ride to Atlantis was $4.00 per person each way. Ferry boat ride, $3.00 per person each way. plus a tip for your "tour guide"! If you enjoy walking the ferry boat is nice but it drops you off about 3/4 of a mile from the Hotel , where the taxi takes you door to door! Also if you are going to do the ferry buy a one way rather than round trip. There is no price savings and this leaves you the option to do a taxi if you wear yourself out touring the Atlantis Hotel! Also the last ferry leaving Paridise Island is 5 to 5:30pm ! So if you miss the last boat you would have to walk back to get a cab and you would be out your return fare! Another reason to stick with the taxis is that the ferry boats are often overloaded well beyond the capacity they were designed for. I have never noticed this until someone who is experienced with boats pointed it out to me. Of course, they tend to load the road taxis beyond any normal capacity limit too! But I feel safer with that situation that being in a boat that could sink. Barb Visit the Platinum Castaway Club at: www.castawayclub.com |
