Avis drop off at Radisson resort

Has anyone else dropped off or collected an Avis rental car from the Radisson resort at the port? I'm thinking of hiring one car from them until we go on the cruise, then picking up another one when we get back from the cruise. I didn't realise until I got my DCL Passporter that the cost of ground transportation wouldn't be included in the vacation we're planning.

Thanks,

Cheryl

Re: Avis drop off at Radisson resort

We've done it, and it went very smoothly. It was especially useful in our case, as we spent several days at Port Canaveral, too. Note that on departure morning there's a lot of demand for the free shuttle van to the cruise terminal, so you may have to wait a little while. However, the drive itself takes less than five minutes.

Re: Avis drop off at Radisson resort

I to was thinking of doing this. Except we are renting the car from Avis at the airport a couple of days before the cruise to spend time with my grandparents in Lakeland and then return the car to Avis at the Radison port Canaveral. My question is do we have to let the shuttle from the radison know we need to use it or can we just let Avis know? also I am looking for info about how or what is the best way to get back to the airport after we get off the ship. We will have returned the rental car. and need to get back somehow. Thanks for any info anyone has.

Re: Avis drop off at Radisson resort

We booked Budget for upcoming trip! A few things made us choose them over Avis!

1. We are not staying at the Radison so it is no more convenient than Avis however we won't have the Radison crowd and the Avis crowd of people to have to worry about shuttling with

2. The cost of a car for the 2 days before our cruise and the day we return from the cruise is about $75 less than taking the Disney Bus

3. We used our American Express points for the Budget rental so it is not cash out of our pockets. One thing that we found out was AMEX vouchers were only good for 6 months so we can't get them till June.

Hopefully things will go smoothly - we are really planning this trip well and with the help of passporter we have gotten great tips!

Re: Avis drop off at Radisson resort

After the cruise, one of you can take the shuttle to the Radisson to get a rental car [about $35], then return to the port to pick up luggage and the rest of your party. Or you can take the Disney bus--$25 a person. More money but less hassles.
