| 7 - Night land and Sea vacation DH and I were thinking of trying out the land and sea itinerary. For those of you who have tried this, is it better to do the 3 or 4 night cruise (we have cruised non Disney many times)? Is it better to do the land part before the cruise or vise versa? Can you choose the resort accommodations that you want to stay in (from their list) or do they place you where they want? Thanks for your help. KathyL |

| Re: 7 - Night land and Sea vacation By booking tha Land and Sea parts of your trip seperately rather than by using DCL's package you will save yourself money and be able to determine the answer to your questions yourself. You decide which order to have your trip in, where you stay (so you can book a less expensive stateroom and splurge on a Deluxe hotel at WDW or vice versa), what park passes you use, etc. Personally I would do a 4 day cruise followed by WDW. The 4 night is long enough to start your vacation out on a relaxing note and really gets you into that vacation mood. Then when you get to WDW you are recharged and ready to go! | Re: 7 - Night land and Sea vacation Personally, I think 8-nights is the minimum land/sea plan. The 4-night cruise is much more relaxing and enjoyable, especially for those who know they like cruising. Meantime, how can you possibly do just three nights at WDW? As to which to do first, only you'll know for sure. For some, the cruise is the dessert, for others, WDW is the dessert. If you book the Disney land/sea you can select any resort on the list within the category that matches your choice of staterooms. So, you have a few choices, but maybe not exactly the resort you'd choose. Further, let's say you must have a stateroom with veranda, but would rather stay at an All-Star at WDW. Can't do that with a Disney package, but you can if you do it on your own. Similarly, you could book the land portion on one of those Visa Kids Stay and Play Free packages, which as far as I know, is not a deal available as part of a land/sea package. And so on. |

| Re: 7 - Night land and Sea vacation We just came back tonight (sigh) from the 7 Night Land/Sea package. It really needs to be 8 or 9 nights and I would love to recommend that to Disney. On another note, I would love to price compare to see how much difference it is to book everything separately but still use their ground transportation. I loved that part of the package, especially with kids who can't carry luggage. We felt like we were going commando trying to cram everything in at WDW and could not, and then on the ship to get to our excursions, we never did sleep in on the cruise. We returned very tired. But very happy. |
