Spa experiences?

Does the pedicure include a massage chair? Anyone try the balancing capsule? Is the Rainforest worth it? Crowded?

I've never done the spa thing and am thinking of taking some time on my birthday, but I'm a private, hands-off kind of person.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Re: Spa experiences?

The pedicure is NOT done in a pedicure chair with massager, whirlpool tub, etc. Juts you in a chair soaking your feet in a rubbermaid tub. Then you put your foot in the girls lap. Nice but kind of uncomfortable. I haven't tried the balancing capsule but the Tropical Rainforest Room is wonderful!!! While there are only 4 tiled loungers there is usually plenty of room in the sauna or the steam rooms. DH has never had a massage or any other type of spa thing and I FINALLY convinced him to try the rainforest on the last day of our cruise. He loved it! Had he tried it sooner he said he could have spent the whole cruise in there. So it's a good "start" to your spa experience.

Re: Spa experiences?

I didn't do the pedicure but from what Belle said it doesn't sound that great.

I would not suggest the balancing capsule. We did the 25-minute 'treatment' & while it was relaxing I didn't think it was worth what it cost. My DH agreed. Perhaps the longer treatment would give you the time to 'get into it' but it just didn't seem like it would be worth it to me.

If you want to avoid the crowds in the Rainforest (I could LIVE there, LOL) go on days that the ship is in port. We went on the afternoon we were in St. Maarten & there were never more than 6-8 people there, including the 2 of us. It was amazing! Those loungers were unbelievable!

We also did the couples massage on Castaway Cay (you can do a single massage as well). It was beyond amazing--I have never felt so relaxed in my life! The sound of the water washing up on shore combined with the facial/massage combo put me to sleep! I so did NOT want to get up when it was over! DH adored it as well.

Have a wonderful time--this was our first spa experience & we're booking another cruise this fall (different line) w/the specific requirements of those lounge chairs, LOL!!!!!!

Re: Spa experiences?

<font color="brown"> I tried the spa sampler (I think that's what it was called ) It's a 20 minute massage followed by a 20 minute facial. I have never had a massage and thought this would be a great way to try 2 things at once. I actually fell asleep during the facial. I would have liked a longer Massage though. I did enjoy it, &amp; I'm considering doing the Rainforest for my trip In October.

The Tropical Rainforest is $15.00 for an all-day treatment, $30.00 for a 3-day pass or $50.00 for a week pass.

Enjoy!!
