Departure Day Ideas

Hi there!

Okay, we depart the ship early in the day, but our plane isn't until 3:30. We don't want to spend the whole day at the airport, but don't think we have enough time to go to the Kennedy Space Center. Does anyone have any ideas about how to entertain 3 boys (11,9 and 7) that day?

Thanks!
Julie

Re: Departure Day Ideas

With car drop off, you should plan on being at the rental place around 1:30. Of course, the rule is, if you get there in plenty of time, the lines will be short. But wait until the last minute and you'll hear your flight take off before you're half way through security.

Allow a long 90 minutes from Canaveral (gotta find gas). So now you're leaving PC at noon. I'd say you have enough time for a quick tour of KSC. Not the bus tour, but a visit to the museum. Figure three hours or so.

Re: Departure Day Ideas

You could also go down to Ron Jon Surf shop in Cocoa Beach - that's pretty fun just to look around.
You could also just head towards Orlando - there's the outlets and lots of other stuff on I Drive that would kill some time.

Re: Departure Day Ideas

Of course, what we are all forgetting is DOWNTOWN DISNEY!!!!

We can never pass up an afternoon there.

Re: Departure Day Ideas

I'd opt for Downtown Disney! Go to the World of Disney shop, take some last minute photos and have a quick bite at the fabulous 'Earl of Sandwich' before heading for home.

That's what we did!
