A NEW Port Canaveral Hotel - Great rates We are cruising in September and were looking for a place to stay the night before. I stumbled upon $99/night in a 1 BR studio with 2 queen beds and 1 sofabed that sleeps six at the Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach ($50 cheaper than Radisson), a hotel that is not slated to open until sometime in March 2006. My reservation says a free breakfast is included, probably continental, but any freebies are appreciated here. I went to marriot.com to book. And the cancellation policy is great too - up to 4:00 pm of the day of arrival. Just wanted to pass on my good fortune - Good luck!

Re: A NEW Port Canaveral Hotel - Great rates We are cruising in April and would like an alternative to the Radisson. I tried the Marriot website and the Residence Inn site and they do not display the hotel. Any other suggestinos ? I am excited about an alternative. We don't really need the shuttle.

Re: A NEW Port Canaveral Hotel - Great rates It's still too early to have all the details on this hotel. Will it have a free shuttle? Who knows. Considering that it's just west of the Radisson, that makes it so close to the cruise terminal you could nearly walk (just over a mile). A cab fare would be quite cheap if they didn't offer a free shuttle.

Re: A NEW Port Canaveral Hotel - Great rates We continued to look for a deal before our April cruise and waws frustrated that the website did not have any rooms available in the new hotel for our night. So we called the number and the scoop is that they are slotted to open on March 10th but will not take any reservations before APril 8th. We need a room for April 7th, so we were out of luck. I am not sure what they are doing between March 10th and April 8th, unless construction is running late. But FYI they are booking reservations starting on April 8th. THose of you who try the new Residence Inn at the Port let us know how it is. We ended up booking a room at Pop Century and will have to check out Mr. Everest instead of staying at the port. It was apretty good compromise in my mind and am looking forward to the new ride now.
