I have been surfing the message boards getting my bearings straight; you all are so nice and helpful. My DD 11 and I are going to WDW on April 27. (My 11th trip and DD 6th) Just received my ME vouchers and I am so excited. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello everyone!! I am new to passporters and looking forward to all the valuable information all the pros have to share with me . I was never priveledged enough to travel growing up so I am making up for it now. This will be my third trip and the second time that we'll be taking my 7 year old twins. I sometimes think these trips are more for me than the kids, but after having gone without the kids once...love it ears above going without them. I have only ONE question today...I've heard mixed things about the Spirit of Aloha Luau...worth it or no?? Thanks for your friendliness!
Brand new to the forum and planning our trip to WDW in December. We've been there before a few times but have only stayed twice on Disney property. We honeymooned there 15 years ago.
We're staying at the Pop Century Resort this time, we've already been to the Sports and Music and feel that they did the job of somewhere to sleep at night. My husband actually liked the food court food. I'm not picky, I'll eat anywhere.
This year will be different in that my daughter, 6, is making her first trip to all the parks besides the MK. We are also going to try the dining plan, which I'm still not really sold on yet. I don't know if it will be worth it for us being that my 13 ( at that time) year old son is a very picky eater and will be more than happy eating chicken fingers for the whole week. We are drawn to the fact that we won't have to worry much about how much we're spending and will be able to splurge on that steak and actually have dessert, too, but I'm worried that I will still be keeping track in my head to see if we're getting our full money's worth because of my son's eating habits. And this year with the gratuity not being included, the more expensive your food is, the higher your tip will be and that money will add up fast. So, I still will have to decide whether or not to keep the dining plan. Glad we have plenty of time for that.
We're also traveling with another family. So this will be interesting, too. We've already decided that we won't have to be joined at the hip so that everyone will have the best time as possible. They have a son the same age as mine, so that's a plus. We reserved our package through AAA and they did it through Disney. We got a better rate but AAA doesn't give you preferred rooms at the hotel. I don't know if there's a way for us to still be somewhat in the same area, because the other family booked a preferred room.
Any comments or suggestions would be more than welcome from anyone.
We will be flying in to Orlando from Long Island and can't wait until Southwest finally opens up booking for December. They are still booking only through August 22 and that's very frustrating when you're planning a vacation like this. We will be using only Disney transportation as we've done in the past, but this will be our first time using Magical Express. That should be a nice change from the Mears service we used previously.
We plan on staying 6 nights/7 days with a hopper pass. Still not sure if that's overkill but again, we have time to make adjustments if we choose to.
I have enjoyed reading tips and money saving ideas that I've found on several sites but would love the input from anyone. Please feel free to contact me with whatever you can offer.
Thank you! Looking forward to using this board to help pass the time!
Hi, we just returned from our second family vacation with our 3 pre-schoolers! Had another amazing trip! I have been to Disney World 8 times as well as working there as a cultural representative for a year. And my husband and I have been to Disneyland Paris. Love sharing my experiences, and hearing others!
I am new to the board after finding you in my Allears newsletter. Excited to be here with people who seem to love all things Disney as much as I do! We Are DVC members since 2008 and try to make several trips a year. We have also been on two Disney cruises with our next scheduled one in June to Alaska. We are also going to WDW in October and staying at AK villas. looking forward to seeing what tips I can learn (and maybe share ) about Our family's favorite place!
