| Impending weather a little scary... Hi! I'm new here... ![]() My family and I are planning our first Disney trip as a family in exactly 3 weeks from yesterday (woohoo!). I'm a little nervous about the hurricanes headed for Florida. Can anyone tell me how the resorts handle it when bad weather hits? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! |

| The resorts usually go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. If the parks are closed, they usually put a recent film or two on one of the resort channels, and provide some character meets at the resort food courts, if it's safe to do so. They are very good about informing guests, providing updates on the phone and slipping notes under doors.

| I haven't personally been there during really bad weather but I have heard that they take care of everyone in typical disney style. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Hopefully while you are there , things calm down a bit. Good luck and have fun.

| We'll be there at the same time So, if it hits you, it'll hit us. At least you are not alone. What a huge worry. That's why next year, we will try to go during another month. It would be terrible if a year of planning, plus all that cash we put towards it went to waste. Let's keep our fingers crossed........

| as a seasoned hurricane rider i can tell you that you are really getting worked up for little reason. y'all will be in the middle of the state, and the effects of any hurricane you MIGHT get would be negligible. rain, a little wind, you probably see worse where you live. now over here on the coast is a different matter entirely. and as rob says, they will take excellent care of you. and it is a little difficult to not plan a trip between june and nov. 30, now isn't it??? trust me, you'll be fine. it's like a big warm blizzard. |
