Oh my goodness, today is theday - the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to see it and all the amazing sporting action over the next couple of weeks.
I still can't actually believe that this weekend, starting tomorrow I'll be at some of the Olympic events for myself - a dream come true!
Ohh Cheryl, I understand your excitement - back in 2000 I lived in Sydney when we hosted the olympics and we went to many events including the closing ceremony (plus my work paid for us to be at the opening ceremony for the Paralympics). So many magical moments...we were inside the dome for the handball heats and Cathy Freeman was running for the 400m gold and literally everyone left their seats and went outside to watch on the open air screens - she WON! OMGosh it was brilliant! I hope you have so much fun too.
As I've been watching the opening ceremonies, I've thought of you, Cheryl! You all are doing an awesome job. I had teary eyes when all the Mary Poppins soared down on the field. Very moving for the whole program! You are so lucky to be attending several of the events.
