I know, I know!!! I'm thinking about doing a TR. But my DH uses the computer all day long (work from home) and we don't have wi-fi or a router. So that limits my time....... I'll decide soon!! If I don't write up anything, I'll post some pics!!!

OK, I've officially started a TR! But I still have to resize my photos and type up the rest of the darn thing. This will take some time, but I'll get it done!

I have started many TRs and never get back to them. I so wish I could access this site from work. (shhh, i didn't really just say that). I would be able to keep up with the posts and reply way more often then I do now! Anywho, no TR for me but will update. I did finish the Full! It was way longer than I expected for me so that was disappointing but I did it. I said I would never do another one but now I am wondering if I could do better. I know my training was horrible at the end and you all were right. I was able to push out the last 10 (I had only gone to 16) but that was a hot, humid day and the worse running weather for me. The good news is that I stayed fueled pretty well, which was a worry for me. Although I drank water or powerade at every stop, I was still a bit dehydrated towards the end as I got the tingling in arms and hands and although I wanted to really sprint it out at the end, I couldn't push it or I felt I would pass out at finish line. I just did NOT want those pictures! LOL! I did a lot of walking within the 17-22 miles. For some reason, that was the hardest stretch. I was not a big fan of the Sports complex as we zigged and zagged through there for what seemed like an eternity. The excitement of the beginning lasted through AK which was the half way mark. Laughed watching the runners run off course to get on Everest. No way was I going to do it as I was slow enough but thought it was great. Loved the distractions along the way. Yes, there were boring parts but I just kept thinking about getting to the next park or even the next mat where you run across and it tracks you for those you signed up. I had signed up for posts to go to FB and I had so many cheering me on from home as well as my DH and sons who were getting the texts. Knowing this really helped. The LONGEST mile was the last one through World Showcase. I kept looking to see how close Mexico was and that was a mistake as it wasn't coming up fast enough. (The last country before heading toward SE ball) It was so awesome to go around SE and see so many people saying "You did it, you're there!" Then to see the finish arch-WOW. I crossed the line trying not to completely bawl me eyes out. I walked like Frankenstein for about 2 days and was wiped out for about a week but that was a combo of the marathon, park visiting, late flight home etc. Had a nice meal of ribs at Rainforest Cafe in DTD that night (had to have MEAT). I waited way too long to eat a good meal and ended up with an extremely bad headache. Once I ate, it was better. Congrats to everyone on their runs. That was a tough weather weekend if you don't like to run in heat but beautiful weather for a vacation weekend! I have signed up for a half in April here at home but I must admit, having a hard time getting back to the treadmill. Outside has been a deep freeze so the treadmill it is. I highly encourage anyone who is contemplating taking on this challenge to just do it. you will be glad you did. Not gonna lie, it was not easy. But I went in knowing that but also remembering that this was about finishing and having fun along the way. Right out of the gate, I kept a steady slow pace and really tried to take in as much as I could, more so than during my WDW Half. When I saw ppeople cheering, I thanked them, loved hearing my name called, if I saw someone with a Half shirt and medal from the day before I congratulated them. Loved to see their faces as they weren't expecting that. It is amazing to me the amount of work for RunDisney and how well run it is. Volunteers excellent, so many drink stops, bananas, bio-freeze at med stops, cool, wet sponges and even a piece of chocolate towards the end. Don't think I would want to do a Full anywhere else honestly :-) Disney is what got me to do one in the first place if I really want to be honest!
Kelli!! I'm so glad to hear that not only you finished (I knew you would) but you had a good time doing it! Yes, meat, good... Sometimes I get headaches after long runs too, as if recovering isn't enough! Glad to hear that got better as well. Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks for the update Kelli! I loved reading about your race! Congratulations, 26.2 miles under your belt!! You should consider running in the Wine and Dine Half next, lots of fun and only 13.1 miles....
Bravo Kelli bravo!!!! Thanks for your take on it! I totally agree that Disney does races great! We do truly get spoiled! So glad to hear that you didn't give up and yes what a wonderful feeling it is crossing that finish line! So proud of all of you that did it!!

Thanks so much everyone! Honestly-you all really helped, especially when I had doubts. Would have loved to have met those of you who were there! Tanya-I often have headaches after a long run-can be a 6 or 8 miler sometimes. I sometimes think dehydration but I am not always convinced it is that. Now my biggest problem is I have slacked off since then. And it is not because I don't want to run. I am in some kind of funk. I am signed up for Half marathon here in April and I can't get out of the starting gate.Gonna try to hit dreadmill tonight. Perfect temps to go outside but unexpected MD appt. for my DS cut the daylight hours short after work. 70 days until registration for next year. I wonder if my DH would let me go again? :-) Or maybe try a different one such as the Wine and Dine? Hmmmm. I can't wait to read TR's. I am so behind but am excited to hear about everyone else. Congrats to all of us and to the future race runners-you will do it and you will be so glad you did!
Funny that you say that...I remember being in a funk after our half too! Kinda like planning for a wedding and now it's over ya feel lost. I too have signed up for a half in April and I'm just not feeling it. Then again I do wonder if some has to do with the winter blahs and how I just want to run outside! I'm more excited for August to do California, but that's still a long way off! I'm hoping that when the weather warms, this funk will break!
